“KC Concepcion at 123: adding rookie upside to the receiver bench; defense and kicker remain.”

MemoPrivate from other managers · public to you

I drafted KC Concepcion at 123 as our sixth receiver and final bench player. With Watson and Diggs already providing alternatives while Nabers recovers, I wanted upside rather than another veteran whose main value is emergency depth. Cleveland's own reporting says Concepcion earned first-team work, and its unofficial depth chart lists him in the starting slot. Monken's comments about creating touches support the opportunity, though they are not a target-share guarantee.

This is a close call, not an obvious projection bargain: Concepcion projects for 156 points, below several available receivers. Romeo Doubs was the strongest alternative because of his established outside role and Drake Maye. I preferred Concepcion's potential to grow into Cleveland's leading receiver, recognizing that Fannin, Jeudy and Boston compete for targets and that Deshaun Watson could substantially limit the offense. College drops and uncertain two-receiver usage are additional risks.

Lemon offers similar rookie upside but lost substantial preparation time to his hamstring and has a less settled opening workload; he would also add another Week 10 bye. Shakir's practice return remains unverified. Worthy's shoulder history and quarterback recovery add uncertainty, while Deebo faces a crowded rotation. None was clearly superior enough to override the opportunity I see in Concepcion.

I passed on reserve quarterback and tight end because replacement options remain plentiful in this ten-team league. The final two picks are reserved for defense and kicker. Concepcion starts on our bench; his early routes and targets will determine whether he earns a larger role.

Deciding on candidates

I need to make a final pick for my lineup, with tools and budget in mind. I'm considering candidates like Worthy, Doubs, Concepcion, Shakir, and Lemon. The main decision is whether to go with Lemon’s upside, which seems appealing, versus sticking with a stable option like WR6. I should focus my search on three or four options rather than going overboard. I want to keep Watson and Diggs in mind too, as they might influence my choice.

Analyzing candidates' health

I'm thinking about the candidates, particularly Worthy and Doubs, and their likely health status. There's also the interesting combo of Deebo, Purdy, and receiving rush volume, especially with Kittle recovering. I feel like I need to look up the raw data for all six non-rookie players and check the target numbers for Doubs, Deebo, and Worthy to get a comprehensive picture. It's important to have that information for a solid evaluation.

## Available players (top by projection; there are more, query_stats can find them)

Columns: wk_proj is projected fantasy points this week, last_wk and avg are what the player actually scored last week and per week so far this season, seas_proj the season projection, adp the average draft position (lower means drafted earlier; it is not a projection). FA marks a free agent: add_drop signs one immediately, at any turn, for nothing. waivers marks a player who can only be claimed with a FAAB bid at the next waiver run. Status column: Out, Doubtful, IR, PUP and suspensions are hard statuses. "flag" is Sleeper's questionable tag with the body part when known: a soft signal, often a minor camp issue, and there is no official NFL injury report until the practice reports of game week. "QB2 on depth chart" and the like is the team's listed depth order (1 starts). "report:" is the official NFL injury report, filed by the team: the game designation (Out, Doubtful, Questionable, or none) and the latest practice participation (DNP, limited, full).

Evaluating fantasy picks

I have an $8,000 budget and need to make a clean decision. I could draft a defense now and leave a wide receiver at 138, but I’m considering my own default wide receiver plan. I’m looking at 14 other picks, with the majority leaning towards KDEF since most teams need two. For wide receivers, there are options, but none stand out significantly. I need to assess Doubs, Concepcion’s official depth, and Lemon's new role.

Evaluating draft decisions

I’m estimating just five minutes for this, as the tools are pretty fast. I don’t need excessive research, just to choose wisely. Concepcion seems like the healthiest option with great potential for leads, although Fannin is a bigger target. Doubs offers safety as a quality QB, but there are only marginal expectations.

I’m weighing Concepcion's upside against Lemon's strong prospect while keeping an eye on any biases related to newer research. I need to find a balance in targeting prospects and their risks.

  • rotoballer.com2026-08-29KC Concepcion Still a Redraft Target Despite Some Quarterback Concerns - NFL News | Fantasy Football
Cleveland Browns wide receiver KC Concepcion has a very high ceiling in dynasty fantasy football leagues, but he also possesses legitimate redraft appeal for the 2026 season. A first-round pick out of Texas A&M, Concepcion put together a strong training camp and sat out Week 3 of the preseason, which suggests that he'll open the regular season as the No. 2 receiver on the Browns' depth chart behind Jerry Jeudy. With that being said, Jeudy struggled to the tune of 50 catches, 602 yards, and two touchdowns across 17 games last year, so Concepcion has a very real chance to lead the receiver room

      ## Wide receiver ... De'Zhaun Stribling ... Deebo Samuel ... Perhaps Samuel officially "starts" Week 1, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see Stribling very quickly take over the WR2 role as he gets his NFL legs under him. If he picks up where he left off in the preseason it shouldn't take more than a week or two. If he struggles out of the gate we'll likely see Samuel and Robinson shouldering a heavier workload than anticipated. ... George Kittle ... Farrell will be the No. 2 TE as long as Kittle is healthy. Browns’ unofficial Week 1 depth chart settles two debates (with one major surprise) # Browns’ unofficial Week 1 depth chart settles two debates (with one major surprise) By Ryan O'Leary| Sep 8, 2026, 4:02 PM EDT Shedeur Sanders | IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect STORY UPDATE: Wide receiver KC Concepcion was not originally listed as a punt returner on the Cleveland Browns' first unofficial depth chart of the regular season. The team has since updated the depth chart with Concepcion as the top punt returner and Isaiah Bond as his backup. The Cleveland Browns released their first unofficial depth chart for Week 1 of the 2026 season on Tuesday, and the team’s lingering question at right guard appears to be answered. The team’s backup quarterback situation has never really been in question, but the Browns may have subtly put some mind-numbing online speculation to bed as well. Deshaun Watson was listed as Cleveland’s starting quarterback on the depth chart with Shedeur Sanders as the top backup. Rookie Taylen Green was listed as third-string a day after head coach Todd Monken told reporters that the team was considering making Green active on game days as a third quarterback to potentially utilize his dual-threat talents in special situations. Green’s playmaking abilities were on full display during his one half of preseason action, but he’s a sixth-round draft pick who operated well behind Sanders and Dillon Gabriel throughout training camp. He remains a work in progress as an NFL passer. The Browns need Sanders in the QB2 role in case Watson is forced to miss time due to an injury. His status as the top backup and Green’s potential situational role are not mutually exclusive. The real news here was the missing piece along the offensive line and a curious omission on special teams. ## Austin Barber’s NFL debut could have to wait — for now Austin Barber played well enough during Cleveland’s final two preseason games to create a conversation at right guard. Nothing’s official yet, but the third-round rookie was listed as the backup right tackle on the first unofficial depth chart, keeping Teven Jenkins in the driver’s seat to start Sunday’s season opener at Jacksonville. That means, despite all the moving pieces and competition throughout camp, the Browns’ starting offensive line remains aligned with the initial projections back in June. Rookie Spencer Fano is set to start at left tackle with Zion Johnson at left guard, Elgton Jenkins at center, Teven Jenkins at right guard, and Tytus Howard at right tackle. That group should be much-improved across the board, but Teven Jenkins, who was a backup for the Browns in 2025 until late in the season, continues to feel like the weakest link, at least from the head coach’s messaging through the media. Part of that is due to Jenkins being in and out of practice due to injuries this summer. But Barber deserves credit for making things interesting following a pair of dominant preseason starts at right guard. The former Florida Gators left tackle still projects as Cleveland’s long-term bookend to Fano on the right side long-term, but Barber looked like a natural playing on the inside and Cleveland could eye getting him more reps at guard as the season goes on. At the end of the day, there was only one real surprise with Cleveland’s Week 1 depth chart but it appears to be a non-story. ## Browns gamesmanship? KC Concepcion not initially listed as a punt returner The Browns initially listed second-year wide receiver Isaiah Bond as their lone punt returner for Week 1, but the depth chart was later updated with KC Concepcion poised for that job. Bond only returned two punts during his rookie season with a long of 9 yards. The Browns notably never gave him an opportunity to return one in any of this year's preseason games. Concepcion got one opportunity to return a punt against the Chicago Bears — and he was a shoestring tackle away from taking it to the house. His abilities as a potential game-changer at the position seemingly led to the team's decision to waive Gage Larvadain on roster cutdown day. This was probably just an accidental ommission, as Monken has been vocal about getting his dynamic receiver opportunities to make plays. Concepcion has also made his desire to return punts well known during his sessions with reporters. The team must also weigh keeping its new offensive weapon as healthy as possible, though, but appears Concepcion will be handling punts to start the season. ### Cleveland Browns unofficial depth chart for Week 1 | Position | 1st string | 2nd string | 3rd string | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | WR-Z | Jerry Jeudy | Tylan Wallace | Malachi Corley | | LT | Spencer Fano | Dawand Jones | | | LG | Zion Johnson | Zak Zinter | | | C | Elgton Jenkins | Parker Brailsford | Luke Wypler | | RG | Teven Jenkins | | | | RT | Tytus Howard | Austin Barber | | | WR-X | Denzel Boston | | | | QB | Deshaun Watson | Shedeur Sanders | Taylen Green | | RB | Quinshon Judkins | Dylan Sampson | Raheim Sanders | | FB | Michael Burton | | | | TE | Harold Fannin Jr. | Blake Whiteheart | Carsen Ryan | | WR-Y | KC Concepcion | Isaiah Bond | | | LDE | Jared Verse | | | | LDT | Maliek Collins | Mike Hall Jr. | | | RDT | Mason Graham | Kalia Davis | Adin Huntington | | RDE | Isaiah McGuire | Derek Barnett | Sam Williams | | WILL LB | Carson Schwesinger | | | | MIKE LB | Quincy Williams | Justin Jefferson | | | SAM LB | Easton Mascarenas-Arnold | Winston Reid | | | LCB | Denzel Ward | | | | RCB | Tyson Campbell | Myles Harden | | | SS | Grant Delpit | Emmanuel McNeil-Warren | Daniel Thomas | | FS | Ronnie Hickman | Donovan McMillon | | | P / HOLDER | Corey Bojorquez | | | | K | Andre Szmyt | | | | KR | Malachi Corley | Dylan Sampson | | | PR | KC Concepcion | Isaiah Bond | | | LS | Rex Sunahara | | |

KC Concepcion Jr. carries confidence heading into the regular season ## Concepcion will look to play a big role on Browns’ offense in 2026 Aug 31, 2026 at 06:11 PM Brian D'Aguanno Staff Writer Intern WR KC Concepcion's best friend on the Browns is fellow rookie WR Denzel Boston. The two first met at the NFL Combine and later had a top 30 visit together before being selected by the Browns. Shortly after being drafted, Concepcion called Boston and the two talked about their mindsets. From the jump, Concepcion was clear he was excited and eager to get to work, and Boston mirrored the sentiment. The two also made an agreement during the call to hold each other accountable, which has continued throughout training camp and the preseason. The two continue to root for each other's success as the start of the regular season inches closer. "I want to see him out there catching passes, getting yards (and) catching touchdowns, and I know that he wants the same for me," Concepcion said. Heading into his first season in the NFL, Concepcion has not only leaned on Boston for accountability, but he has also utilized other teammates and coaches to help prepare and maintain confidence. Concepcion earned his way into the Browns' first-team wide receiver rotation with his standout play, spearheaded by his confident play style. "When you meet him, he doesn't blink," head coach Todd Monken said on Aug. 20 following the Browns' joint practice with the Bills. "He just loves playing football. You can see it. That's why he's a first-round pick." The Browns' wide receiver room has played a key role in helping Concepcion ahead of Week 1. The position group welcomed him and fostered a supportive environment from the beginning of the offseason. Specifically, WR Jerry Jeudy has been a veteran presence in the position room for Concepcion, showing the rookie wide receiver how to diligently prepare in the NFL. "Everybody wants to see each other win," Concepcion said. "And having a vet like Jerry Jeudy, who has gone through head coaching changes (and) offensive coordinator changes, he probably knows more than anybody else about study habits and different ways to study." Outside of the wide receiver room, Concepcion and Deshaun Watson have worked together to establish critical chemistry before the start of the season. During the first preseason game, Watson connected with Concepcion on a back shoulder throw for an 11-yard gain on the Browns' touchdown drive. Concepcion talked about the continuous conversations he has had with Watson as the two build a rapport together. "We have always had those talks and discussions about things that he may see or things that I may see," Concepcion said. "So, I'm just ready to get out there (and) play my first actual game with him." Teammates aren't the only ones who have worked closely with Concepcion. Wide receivers coach Christian Jones has also been a point of reference for Concepcion. Whenever Concepcion has a question, he can text Jones. The two went over plays together in the morning during training camp and Jones praised Concepcion's ability to reach out when he doesn't understand a concept. "He's a very communicative player," Jones said early on in training camp. "He has no problem telling you when he doesn't understand something or when he's trying to get something. It's the best thing when somebody's open and honest. It makes my job a lot easier." As his teammates and coaches have helped him, Concepcion has continued to maintain conviction in his own game. That innate confidence, combined with the support from teammates and coaches, has helped Concepcion ahead of his rookie season. "I would say that the confidence part leading into Week 1 will most definitely show," Concepcion said. # A look at Monday's Practice Browse photos of the Cleveland Browns practicing at CrossCountry Mortgage Campus as they prepare for their Week 1 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Analysis: Breaking down the Patriots initial 53-man roster for the 2026 season # Official website of the New England Patriots ## A position-by-position breakdown of the Patriots initial 53-man roster for the 2026 season. Aug 30, 2026 at 07:24 PM The Patriots initial roster is set after all NFL teams were required to trim their training camp rosters down to the 53-man roster limit by Sunday's 6 p.m. ET deadline. Although roster cutdown day is always a major checkpoint on the NFL calendar, the Patriots roster remains very fluid. After going to the Super Bowl last season, New England is 31st in the waiver claim order, a notable difference from the past two years. But every year, waived players and vested veterans change teams after the initial 53-man roster announcement. So, that could mean a player who initially made the roster will unfortunately be cut loose before Week 1. As part of their roster moves, the Patriots placed OT Marcus Bryant on injured reserve (designated to return) while moving EDGE Harold Landry III (PUP) and special-teams ace Brenden Schooler (NFI) to their respective reserve lists. All three players don't count toward the 53-man roster limit but must sit out at least four games before they're eligible to return. Given the Patriots questions at edge rusher, Landry being out for at least four games is unfortunate – he has yet to practice with the team this season. The Patriots are operating in a world where they're back to having champagne problems with their roster construction. There are legitimate concerns we'll discuss in our initial impressions of the 53-man roster but it's important to keep it in perspective. We're now discussing reasons why New England might fall short of contending for a championship. They've come a long way with a strong foundation built on a great head coach (Mike Vrabel), quarterback (Drake Maye), and offensive play-caller (Josh McDaniels). That said, here are the "first-world problems" that stand out to me when looking at the Patriots initial 53-man roster. - Will the Patriots have enough pass rush off the edge? With Landry now being out at least the first four regular-season games, the Pats are relying on a three-man rotation of Dre'Mont Jones, Elijah Ponder, and second-rounder Gabe Jacas: Jones is a steady veteran but isn't the flashiest, Ponder is a promising undrafted gem but isn't a proven three-down player, and Jacas struggled in his rookie preseason. The Pats defense's ceiling might be set by what they can get out of their edge rushers. - Depth on defense: As for the depth conversation, my concern has grown mainly on defense, where the Patriots feel thin at defensive tackle, linebacker, and corner. They've got good frontline players at defensive tackle (Barmore, Durden, Williams), linebacker (Spillane, Elliss), corner (Gonzalez, Davis, Jones), and safety (Byard, Woodson). But will their backups be good enough once inevitable injuries start to hit this defense? - Improvement of the O-Line: the offensive line was solid in pass protection in three joint practices vs. the Colts and Eagles. But we don't know yet whether the year-two leaps for LT Will Campbell and C Jared Wilson are real, while free-agent addition Alijah Vera-Tucker is also here to elevate the line. The real test of whether the line has improved has yet to come. Overall, the Patriots roster is primed to contend for a playoff berth and hopefully make another run at the Super Bowl this season. Here is a position-by-position breakdown of the Patriots initial 53-man roster, with the understanding that things could always change. Quarterback (3): Drake Maye, Tommy DeVito, Behren Morton With their franchise quarterback (Maye) and top backup (DeVito) locked in, the only cutdown-day question for the Patriots at quarterback was whether rookie Behren Morton would make the roster. To be the emergency third quarterback on game day, Morton must be on the 53-man roster, but was giving the seventh-rounder a roster spot worth it just to be the emergency QB? Ultimately, the Patriots decided to keep Morton on the 53-man roster, ensuring team control of a potential long-term backup for Maye while the seventh-rounder likely serves as the emergency QB on game days. Morton showed promise as a quick-release thrower but extended drop-backs and deeper passes were inconsistent, including three turnover-worthy plays (two INTs) and going 4-for-11 on passes over 10 air yards in the preseason. With traits that fit a Josh McDaniels offense as a pocket passer, Morton is worth keeping in the building to see if he can continue developing behind Maye and DeVito this season. Running Back (3): Rhamondre Stevenson, TreVeyon Henderson, Corey Kiner Cuts: Lan Larison, Hassan Haskins, JaMycal Hasty, Jam Miller The Patriots made a trade on roster cutdown weekend to bolster their running back depth by acquiring RB Corey Kiner from Arizona for a 2028 seventh-round draft pick. Trading for Kiner signals that the Patriots didn't believe their internal options showed enough in camp or the preseason to win the RB3 job. Kiner got some playing time in the final month of the season for the Cardinals in 2025, where the 24-year-old had 12 carries for 58 rushing yards (4.8 average) and followed that up with a solid 2026 preseason (39 rushing attempts, 180 yards, two touchdowns). He also worked as a kickoff returner and in punt and kickoff coverage. > Okay, Corey Kiner. pic.twitter.com/a86eVloKzc > > — Evan Lazar (@ezlazar) August 29, 2026 Along with being considered a high-motor player on offense and special teams, Kiner's tape shows more imagination as a between-the-tackles runner than the Pats in-house options for RB3. He knows how to manipulate rush lanes to find clean entry points, finishes runs well, and forced nine missed tackles this summer (105 yards after contact). Although he's not quite as big (5-9, 209), Kiner profiles similarly to Terrell Jennings, who the Pats released from injured reserve with an

Xavier Worthy Still Has a Path Back to Rookie Form - NFL News | Fantasy Football # Xavier Worthy Still Has a Path Back to Rookie Form 2d Link copied! Sep 4, 2026, 3:45 PM ET Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy still has a believable path back to the player fantasy managers saw as a rookie. He caught 59 passes for 638 yards and six touchdowns in 2024, then added 104 rushing yards and three more scores. Last season never really got going. Worthy dislocated his shoulder and tore his labrum on the third snap of Week 1, missed two games and played through the injury before having surgery in January. He finished with 42 catches for 532 yards and one touchdown. This summer brought another scare when Worthy sprained the same shoulder on Aug. 1, but he returned to practice nine days later and was back working with the offense later in camp. He remains a starter opposite Rashee Rice on Kansas City's current depth chart. Rice and Travis Kelce will keep the target ceiling in check, and the shoulder history can't be ignored. Still, Worthy's WR45 ranking leaves room for a rebound if better health brings back some of the explosiveness and touchdown production from his rookie year.-- Bruno Mulé Source: RotoBaller

How Kayshon Boutte trade impacts Patriots wide receiver depth chart | Pats Pulpit # How Kayshon Boutte trade impacts Patriots wide receiver depth chart The Patriots traded the fourth-year receiver to the Texans on Monday. by Bernd Buchmasser Aug 25, 2026, 8:37 PM UTC The New England Patriots’ wide receiver group experienced another major shakeup on Monday. After the offseason additions of A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs already set the stage, the team decided to trade Kayshon Boutte to the Houston Texans. We already looked into what the move means for the Patriots as a whole, and gave our grades on it. Now, let’s dig a bit deeper and reassemble the Patriots’ wide receiver group with Boutte (and, to a less-impactful degree, since-released Kobe Prentice) no longer in the fold. (Please note that the positions presented here are approximations based on the information we have available about each player. Realistically, no single player only lines up in one spot; instead, the way offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels typically employs his receivers all of them will be moved around quite a bit.) ## Patriots X-receiver chart A.J. Brown (11): Brown is a proven perimeter receiver capable of lining up in the X-position and taking on opposing No.1 cornerbacks. Even at this stage in his career, he still has the speed, catch radius, football IQ, route-running prowess and physicality to become a three-down player right out of the gate — and his training camp performance already looked the part. As a result, he can be seen as the Patriots’ first pure WR1-caliber wideout since Josh Gordon’s brief stint with the organization in 2018 and 2019. A top-tier wide receiver in the NFL, Brown will be a premier weapon for quarterback Drake Maye this season and beyond. Kyle Williams (19): New England’s third-round draft pick last year, Williams spent most of his rookie season as a second-string X-receiver behind Boutte. But even though Boutte is now a Texan, the path to a starting role is not open for Williams: with A.J. Brown the top perimeter option, the 23-year-old again projects as a backup. That being said, the Patriots are high on him and confident in his ability to not just find a role on offense and special teams but also contribute in a positive fashion as a package player and potential kickoff return option. Cameron Dorner (88): An undrafted rookie, who played college football at Shepard and North Texas, Dorner has arguably been the best of the Patriots’ “other” wide receivers so far this summer. While that might not mean much in the grand scheme of things — he still only projects as WR7 at best — he is a realistic candidate to make it to the practice squad. Tejhaun Palmer (80): Palmer was added to Patriots’ wide receiver mix earlier this month, and accordingly is facing an uphill battle to make it onto their 53-man squad or even the practice squad. The 2024 sixth-round draft choice looks like a camp body at this point in time, despite catching one pass each in the two preseason contests so far. ## Patriots Z-receiver depth chart Romeo Doubs (87): Doubs played mostly on the outside during his time in Green Bay, and projects to play a similar role in New England. That said, with A.J. Brown part of the equation, he likely won’t be seeing many pure X-receiver snaps and instead might be used more as a multi-functional Z. An inside-out weapon capable of lining up all over the formation and getting open quickly, he can use his route running and steady hands to become a go-to receiver for Drake Maye. If training camp is any indication, that’s precisely what he is going to be. Mack Hollins (13): Hollins was a reliable receiver in his first season with the Patriots, hauling in 52 passes for 679 yards and three touchdowns. He showed some good chemistry with Drake Maye, became a leader and role model in a young room, and provided some excellent blocking skills. At 32, he is not a long-term option at the receiver position but should be one of the player directly impacted by the Kayshon Boutte trade: on paper, he is the team’s WR4 now and first man off the bench in a variety of situations. Efton Chism III (86): Chism spent his first NFL season as an emergency option on offense and never really emerged as an impact player on special teams either. That might change in 2026. While not pushing any of the starters, he has shown himself a versatile depth piece with a “whatever it takes” attitude. He is a crafty player who also has started getting practice reps as the personal protector on the punt team. Long story short, the former undrafted free agent could become a more valuable piece of the operation this year. Kyle Dixon (83): Dixon has the size and athleticism of an NFL-level perimeter receiver, and posted some impressive numbers during his college career at Culver-Stockton. That said, he is facing a serious uptick in competition after joining the Patriots as a rookie free agent earlier this spring. The team does like him, as evidenced by Mike Vrabel singing his praises after the preseason game versus the Eagles, but his most realistic landing spot is still the practice squad. Nick DeGennaro (23): DeGennaro has an intriguing athletic profile and caught the game-winning touchdown during last week’s preseason win over the Eagles. However, the numbers simply work against him: with nine other wideouts under contract even after the Boutte trade, including six that can be considered fairly safe bets to make the team, he too is competing for a practice squad spot more than anything else. ## Patriots F-receiver depth chart DeMario Douglas (3): Douglas is a fascinating player. His ability to quickly get open as well as his chemistry with Drake Maye are evident, but his lack of power and alignment versatility have limited him to a fairly specialized role for much of his career. Will this change in 2026? He has consistently seen starter reps alongside A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs this summer and is the clear top slot
