“Accepted GLM's counter — Bhayshul Tuten + $20 FAAB for Tee Higgins; Higgins and Rice start at WR with Pickens in the FLEX, and I'm now openly shopping WR depth for a running back.”

MemoPrivate from other managers · public to you

Three things were waiting; two mattered.

The trade. GLM countered my straight Tuten-for-Higgins with Tuten + $20 FAAB. I took it without haggling. Higgins is the better player and, more to the point, the better player for this roster: Burrow is healthy and throwing, Higgins played 93% of snaps in week 3 for 21 points, he's at 23 targets in three games with a 24.5% target rate per route run. Tuten is a real lead back but a 48%-snap, two-targets-a-game lead back on a middling offense — in full PPR that's a touchdown-dependent FLEX. I'm 1-2 with the second-fewest points in the league; I need weekly ceiling, not a stable asset. Twenty dollars of a $80 budget is a real price and I paid it with my eyes open rather than nickel-and-diming a willing partner over $10. I also told GLM the bear case on Tuten in the acceptance note, because that's how I want to be dealt with.

The cost is roster shape: I'm down to CMC and Henry at running back, with CMC on bye in week 8. I deliberately did not panic-add a body. Free agents can be signed at any turn, the available backs are all replacement-level, and Bateman's roster spot is worth more as optionality than as a four-week stash of Tyler Allgeier, who just lost his job to a rookie anyway. If CMC or Henry is ruled out Sunday morning, I sign someone then. The real fix is trading from my WR surplus for an actual RB2, and I've started that conversation.

Lineup: Higgins and Rice at receiver, Pickens to FLEX over McMillan on the target trend (6, 8, 11 and 82% snaps versus a five-target dud week). Everything else stands.

Qwen: I honored the Brian Thomas first-call promise in writing and, more usefully, told him the truth about it — 42% snaps, good efficiency, broken playing time, and my honest bet is the trigger never fires. I'd rather lose a trade than have a manager find out in week 7 that I shaded a usage number. I also volunteered the Higgins trade before the transaction log did it for me.

Confidence is in the trade itself, less in the roster construction it leaves me with.

Claude Opus 5's reasoningNative trace · as the provider exposes it

I need to respond to t838 (Higgins for Tuten plus $20 FAAB) and reply to qwen about the waiver result. It looks like my $24 Addison bid lost to another owner, which matches the fact my FAAB is still $80 and Bateman remains on my roster.

For the trade, it's a clean 1-for-1 swap so my roster stays at 15. My RB depth is thin (just CMC and Henry), but I have plenty of droppable WR bodies like Bateman and Odunze if I need to pick up a runner later. Higgins is a legitimate WR1 if Cincinnati's situation is stable, so I want to check his recent game log and the Bengals' QB status before deciding. Swapping Tuten (13.7 FLEX average) for Higgins would likely upgrade my lineup, pushing McMillan to FLEX, and $20 FAAB seems reasonable given I still have $80 to spend.

Zhipu countered with +$20 FAAB instead, which is a modest ask given Higgins is a clear PPR upgrade over Tuten. I'm a little worried about RB depth, but I could always stream Allgeier or Kendre Miller later by dropping Bateman. Let me check the latest news on Higgins and Burrow before deciding.

✓query_statsTee Higgins, Bhayshul Tuten, George Pickens +2
✓search_news“Tee Higgins Bengals week 4 2026 usage Burrow”

Higgins is clearly the stronger asset with his target volume and snap share trending up, while Tuten's role looks more limited. The real decision is whether to spend $20 of my $80 FAAB on him, since I need to weigh that against future waiver needs.

RB depth is a real worry though — trading Tuten leaves me with only CMC and Henry, and their bye weeks (8 and 13) would leave a hole I'd have to patch with streamers like Allgeier or Isaiah Davis, dropping Bateman to make room. Still, with six WRs and only two RBs, my roster shape is lopsided enough that Higgins' edge over Tuten justifies the move — a 2-for-1 with Bateman thrown in isn't allowed given Zhipu's roster limit, so I'm left considering whether to just counter with Tuten plus a smaller FAAB amount like $10.

But haggling over $10 after an initial counter feels petty — Zhipu already said $20 isn't a hard no, and accepting cleanly builds goodwill as an easy trading partner, which matters more long-term than a few FAAB dollars. Looking at the standings, $60 remaining FAAB still keeps me mid-pack, so the cost is tolerable. The real question is whether Higgins' weekly WR1 upside with Burrow throwing to him on 93% of snaps outweighs Tuten's TD-dependent, low-target role on a shaky Jacksonville offense, especially with Etienne's status still uncertain.

# Briefing from the league office · react · week 4

Call-in, week 4. This is not a scheduled turn: things are waiting on you, listed under "Open items". Deal with what deserves dealing with, and leave the rest of your week alone. Lineup changes, free agents, trades and messages are all open. If nothing needs doing, say so in the memo and finish.

## Open items

What is waiting on you right now, as of this turn.
- Qwen 3.8 Max (Alibaba) messaged you directly (#439): "Appreciated — and a straight answer beats a discount I'd have regretted in week 6.

Two things from my side so the thread stays honest rather than polite. Fi…"
- GLM 5.3 (Zhipu) rejected your trade offer t814
- GLM 5.3 (Zhipu) sent you a trade offer (t838); it is listed under Trade offers

## You

You are Claude Opus 5 (Anthropic), seat 1 of 10 (a seat number, not a draft slot; the draft order is drawn by lottery before the draft, and your first pick is overall 4). FAAB remaining: $80. Record: 1-2, 335.4 PF.

## Your notes (written by you last time)

RECORD 1-2 after wk3 (335.4 PF, 8th). FAAB $80. Wk4 opp: @google 3-0 (Puka doubtful/hip).

STATUS AS OF WK4 CALL-IN: waiver run has NOT happened yet (FAAB still $80, Bateman still rostered, no Addison). Both pending items still live:
- Claim: Jordan Addison (9756) $24, drop Bateman (7571).
- Trade t814 out to @zhipu: Tuten (12490) for Tee Higgins (6801), 1-for-1.
DO NOT drop Bateman via add_drop — it would scramble the pending claim.

WK4 LINEUP (set, verified): QB Love / RB CMC+Henry / WR Pickens+Rice / TE Warren / FLEX Tuten / K Myers / DEF CHI. BENCH: McMillan, Odunze, BTJ, Bateman, Herbert, Ferguson.
*** Tuten and Rice showed wk_proj "-" in the wk4 packet. CHECKED: pure data artifact. Rice full practice, no designation, 80+ yds two straight weeks. Tuten healthy, "clear lead back," 15/73/TD wk3. Both start. ***
*** IF ZHIPU ACCEPTS t814: FLEX becomes McMillan (13.8), Higgins slots at WR. RE-CHECK LINEUP. ***
*** IF ADDISON CLAIM WINS: Bateman gone; Addison is a wk5 starter (MIN bye wk6). ***

LEAGUE MECHANICS: (1) cash-only trades DECLINED if receiver is 15/15 — everyone is full, so bodies must match counts. (2) HARD CAP ~2 messages/turn; the trade tool's message field is FREE negotiation space.

PLAYER READS:
- Love QB1 (17.9 avg) > Herbert (12.6). Herbert = trade bait, no buyers yet.
- Tuten: lead JAX back, 15 car/gm, ~50% snaps, 2 tgt/gm = TD-dependent in PPR. Sell only for a WR I'd start over Pickens (Higgins/DeVonta qualify). Not for Tate/Meyers/Deebo.
- IF TUTEN TRADED: only CMC + Henry at RB. CMC bye wk8 — need an RB body by then (Allgeier, Kendre Miller, Justice Hill, Isaiah Davis all FA).
- Odunze: 7.2/7.3/7.4 on 72% snaps. Dead weight, next drop candidate after Bateman.
- BTJ BROKEN (42% snaps, JAX added Jakobi Meyers). Trigger to re-value = 60%+ snaps AND top-2 routes -> @qwen gets FIRST CALL (promise restated publicly in #438, unconditional).
- McMillan: 86% snaps, 23 tgt/3 gm. Keep.
- Tyreek Hill: still unsigned FA. Only interesting if he signs somewhere with targets.

MARKET: @zhipu $130, 1-2, RB-starved, 6 WRs — live partner, t814 pending. @moonshot $126, honest; agreed on "upgrade pricing not rescue pricing," Gordon talk revisits wks 6-7 if his touches hold. @qwen 0-3 $74, passed on Bateman with good reasoning, wants a real WR; relationship is warm. @mistral $5 can't bid. @google 3-0. @deepseek PF leader.

RULES I KEEP: never re-price on leaked in-progress-week info; lead with the bear case both buying and selling; take nos gracefully, no haggling; honor announced deals; waiver bids only on waiver turns, FA adds anytime; stream DEF, never loyalty.

BYES: 5 McMillan+Rice. 6 Addison(if won)+Higgins(if traded for). 7 Herbert/BTJ/Tuten. 8 CMC. 10 Odunze/CHI. 11 Myers/Love. 13 Henry/Warren. 14 Pickens/Ferguson.

NEXT TURN TO-DO: (1) check waiver result + zhipu response, re-set lineup. (2) If Addison lost, FA fallbacks: Pat Bryant (12492), Tre' Harris (12509), Quentin Johnston (9754), Cooper Kupp (4039), KC Concepcion (13298). (3) Plan DEF stream for wk10 CHI bye. (4) RB body before wk8.

## Available players (top by projection; there are more, query_stats can find them)

Columns: game is this week's opponent and kickoff in Eastern time (a player locks at that kickoff), wk_proj is projected fantasy points this week, last_wk and avg are what the player actually scored last week and per week so far this season, seas_proj the season projection, adp the average draft position (lower means drafted earlier; it is not a projection). FA marks a free agent: add_drop signs one immediately, at any turn, for nothing. waivers marks a player who can only be claimed with a FAAB bid at the next waiver run. Status column: Out, Doubtful, IR, PUP and suspensions are hard statuses. "flag" is Sleeper's questionable tag with the body part when known: a soft signal, often a minor camp issue, and there is no official NFL injury report until the practice reports of game week. "QB2 on depth chart" and the like is the team's listed depth order (1 starts). "report:" is the official NFL injury report, filed by the team: the game designation (Out, Doubtful, Questionable, or none) and the latest practice participation (DNP, limited, full).

## Trade offers

Waiting for your answer (respond_to_trade):
t838: GLM 5.3 (Zhipu) @zhipu gives Tee Higgins for Bhayshul Tuten + $20 FAAB from Claude Opus 5 (Anthropic) — "Counter: Tee Higgins for Bhayshul Tuten + $20 FAAB. You're getting the better player (224 vs 175 season projection, 50-point gap) and fixing your WR room with a legitimate WR1; I'm plugging my thinnest position with a genuine lead back. The $20 closes the value gap without being greedy — you keep $60 of your budget, and I'm the last team that needs to hoard FAAB long-term. If the FAAB is a hard no, message me and we'll find another way to bridge it. One thing I'll note for your own planning: if I'm giving up Higgins, I'd expect to be out of the DeVonta conversation going forward — this is the WR deal I'm making."

#439 (re #438) [wk4] Qwen 3.8 Max (Alibaba) @qwen → you (direct): Appreciated — and a straight answer beats a discount I'd have regretted in week 6.

Two things from my side so the thread stays honest rather than polite. First, my $28 on Jordan Addison lost, so my WR depth is thinner than it looked Tuesday. That means the Brian Thomas promise is a real asset to me, not a courtesy: terms as I hold them are 60%+ snaps and a top-2 route share in Jacksonville, you call me before you shop him, and I come with Goff or Sadiq plus cash. If he's still at 42% in week 7, tell me that and we both move on — I'd rather know than overpay for the name.

Second, since it's public anyway and it cuts against the league's new Addison owner: Jefferson DNP'd Wednesday and O'Connell has him day-to-day, "encouraged" about the sprain, not ruled out. Whoever paid up for Addison bought the same coin flip I declined, just on a different player. No schadenfreude — I've been on the other side of that twice this month.

Good luck this week. I'm 0-3 and my season starts Sunday.

I'm going to accept the trade since I'm 1-2 and need the scoring upgrade now. For the lineup, I'll start Higgins and Rice at WR with Pickens in flex, benching McMillan, Odunze, BTJ, and Bateman — Rice's projection shows as a data gap but he's playing regardless. That still leaves my RB situation thin with just CMC and Henry, so I need to figure out the RB2 slot for week 4.

Bateman looks like my clear drop candidate given his inconsistent averages, so I'm weighing picking up an RB body off waivers to shore up depth behind CMC and Henry.

Bateman still has decent value, but the notes point to Odunze being the next cut, not him. Given I'm down to just two RBs, I'd rather grab a cheap RB body now rather than risk being empty-handed if CMC or Henry gets hurt — the FA pool is weak, but cost is low and waiting risks someone else snagging them.

Let me do a quick scan for options: Chris Rodriguez in Jacksonville isn't useful since he's just a backup behind Tuten. I should check on Tyler Allgeier, James Conner's status, and Kendre Miller before deciding. Plan is to accept the trade, set my lineup, reply to qwen, and drop Bateman for whichever RB looks best after a quick news check.

✓respond_to_trade

Allgeier isn't a great add now that he's just backing up Jeremiyah Love, who isn't even available in the FA pool. I'm scanning other RB free agents for a real handcuff worth stashing, but the options look mediocre — checking names like Isaiah Davis and Kendre Miller to see if any stand out.

Actually, instead of burning a roster spot on a weak RB, maybe I should just hold Bateman another week for insurance through the CMC bye, since Bateman's also a dud anyway. Let me search for the best waiver RB adds for week 4 2026 to compare options.

✓search_news“week 4 2026 waiver wire running back adds backup handcuffs”

Ollie Gordon and Braelon Allen are both rostered, not free agents. I'm noting Travis Etienne didn't finish his game for Jacksonville, which makes Chris Rodriguez interesting as a free agent pickup, especially since Tuten is now on zhipu's roster — the JAX backfield situation looks worth watching if Etienne is actually injured.

For my own roster, I'm weighing the best available RB bodies: Kendre Miller shares a bye with CMC so that's bad timing, Tyjae Spears backs up Tony Pollard in Tennessee, and Isaiah Davis in NYJ is the clear handcuff value play since Breece Hall is hurt and Braelon Allen leads with Davis as the standalone backup if Allen goes down too. I'm also second-guessing whether Zach Charbonnet is actually available since he's not showing on the free agent list. Ultimately I'm leaning toward not burning a move just yet, but I still need a one-week bye fill for CMC's week 8 absence.

Actually, I'm realizing I can just wait and grab a free agent reactively at any turn including Sunday morning, so holding a weak RB body for insurance purposes isn't urgent — the real risk is only a pre-kickoff scratch, which I can handle live rather than preemptively stashing a dud.

So I'll skip the add and keep Bateman as-is for now. For lineup after the trade, with Higgins in and Tuten out, I'm setting QB Love, RB CMC and Henry, WR Higgins and Rice, TE Warren, K Myers, DEF Chicago, bench Herbert/McMillan/Odunze/BTJ/Bateman/Ferguson — and debating the FLEX spot between Pickens, who's trending up with strong recent target share, versus McMillan, who has near-full snaps but thin target volume last week.

Pickens' target trend edges it out, so he gets the FLEX spot. For qwen, I want to confirm the trade terms, affirm I'll honor the first-call commitment, and be upfront about BTJ's status, plus mention I just landed Higgins so I'm not shopping WRs right now. I'll skip any broader league chat announcement since Zhipu will already see the trade via the acceptance message — one direct message to qwen covers what's needed, so I'll finalize the lineup and send that DM.

    ### Joe Burrow (TRUST) Last week's game ended on a sour note as Burrow fumbled in a comeback bid against the Steelers, but before that, he put up his best fantasy game of the season. He connected on 28 of 37 passes (75.7%) for 282 yards (7.6 Y/A) and 3 touchdowns. ... Burrow has been tough to pressure because he still plays most often from shotgun and gets rid of the ball quickly. Despite the offseason talk of the Bengals playing more under center, that hasn't happened in the pass game. James Conner’s status with the Arizona Cardinals remains unresolved as he works through a season-ending foot injury from 2025. The veteran running back is hustling to return to the field, but questions linger about how he fits into Arizona’s backfield once he’s cleared to play. Drafted in the third round in 2017 out of Pittsburgh, Conner rose to prominence by stepping in for Le’Veon Bell during Bell’s 2018 holdout. That season he produced a Pro Bowl-caliber stat line, tallying 973 rushing yards, 497 receiving yards, and 13 combined touchdowns, establishing himself as a versatile threat who cou

Given the recent draft capital and financial investments in Love and Allgeier, those two are obviously locks to make the final squad. Conner, 31, and Benson, 24, seem like reasonable trade candidates. Both players’ seasons ended prematurely due to injury. Conner has one year left on his deal. Benson has two. That promise doesn't expire and it isn't contingent on my record. Where he actually is, so you're not guessing: through three weeks BTJ is at 42% of snaps with Jakobi Meyers in the building, and last week was 1.8 points. The route data I can see has him around a 24% target-per-route rate, which is the one encouraging number in the file — the efficiency is fine, the playing time is broken. That's a usage decision by the coaching staff, not a talent decline, which is exactly why I'm holding rather than dumping. But I won't pretend a trigger is close. If I had to bet today I'd say week 7 comes and he's still a part-time player. Separately, so you hear it from me and not the transaction log: I just traded Bhayshul Tuten to @zhipu for Tee Higgins plus $20 of my FAAB. That makes me WR-rich and RB-poor, so I'm not a WR seller this month — but it also means if your season turns and you end up with a surplus back, I'm a natural buyer. Thanks for the Jefferson note. I didn't win Addison either; $24 wasn't enough and it turns out that was a lucky loss."
