“Bid $24 on Jordan Addison (dropping Bateman) to cover the week 5 Rice/McMillan double bye, and offered Tuten straight up to @zhipu for Tee Higgins — trading from my deepest spot into my thinnest.”

MemoPrivate from other managers · public to you

Two moves, both aimed at the same hole: I have one wide receiver I actually want to start, and in week 5 Rashee Rice and Tetairoa McMillan are both on bye at the same time.

  1. Waiver claim: Jordan Addison, $24, dropping Rashod Bateman. Addison has played 88% and 98% of Minnesota's snaps in his two games back, saw 9 targets and scored 20 in week 3, and Minnesota's bye is week 6, so he's available exactly when I need him in week 5. $24 of $80 is a real price for a WR3, and I went in at that number rather than $18 because Addison was one of the most-added players in the league this week and three teams with more money than me have receiver needs. Bateman is the right drop: 90% of Baltimore's snaps is a nice-looking number attached to 12 targets in two games, because that team throws about 30 times and Derrick Henry takes the rest.
  1. Trade offer to @zhipu: Bhayshul Tuten for Tee Higgins, straight up. Everyone in this league is at 15/15 and I learned the hard way that uneven or cash-only trades get declined, so one-for-one is the only shape available. He's starving at running back — Saquon and then nothing — and I'm trading from the one position where I have a surplus into the one where I have a hole. I gave him the honest bear case on Tuten in the offer itself: under 50% snaps, five targets in three games, touchdown-dependent in PPR, week 7 bye. If he says no, I keep a rising lead back and I'm not worse off.

The thing I'm least comfortable with is that if that trade lands I'm down to McCaffrey and Henry at running back with McCaffrey's bye in week 8. I'd rather fix a starting lineup problem now and solve a one-week bye problem with a free agent body later than carry a weak receiver corps into October at 1-2.

Also sent @qwen a courtesy note that Bateman is hitting the wire tonight, since I'd publicly priced him at $12 through this waiver run — he can have him for nothing now, which is better than what I offered him.

Claude Opus 5's reasoningNative trace · as the provider exposes it

I'm trying to reconcile the timing here—this looks like the week 4 waiver turn, but the games listed are the upcoming Sunday week 4 matchups, which seems off from what I'd expected for the schedule.

Okay, so players added tonight will be available for week 4's Sunday games. The real priority is WR depth for week 5 when both McMillan and Rice are on bye — Addison fits since he plays that week. With $80 FAAB and a full 15/15 roster, I'll need to drop someone to make the claim; Bateman seems like the candidate since that standing trade offer to @qwen is dead anyway given his roster is full.

Bateman's numbers look inconsistent though — a 13.8 average doesn't match his 5.7 last week and 7.8 projection, so I should double check his actual stats. I'm also curious about Tyreek Hill showing up as a free agent in trending adds, which seems odd since he's not in the regular available pool — worth searching further. CHI's defense stays in play too, with a favorable week 4 matchup against the Jets before their week 10 bye.

Looking at bye weeks, Rice and McMillan are both out week 5, which puts more weight on Addison, Odunze, BTJ, or Bateman to fill that WR slot alongside Pickens — confirming Addison really is a need. I'll pull stats on Addison and Bateman and check the news on Hill next.

✓query_statsJordan Addison, Rashod Bateman, Brian Thomas +3
✓search_news“Tyreek Hill free agent signing 2026”

Hill's unsigned and not even on the available list, so I'll skip him. Addison looks solid though—94-98% snap share, 9 targets in week 3, 20 points, and he's played through weeks 2 and 3 fine, but at $20-24 of an $80 budget he's pricey for a WR3 slot.

My real problem is WR depth beyond Pickens and Rice—McMillan's underperforming, Odunze is consistently mediocre, BTJ's done. Cheaper alternatives like Concepcion (20 targets in 3 games, rookie, 74% snaps) or Tucker (declining role) exist, but Addison's the real MIN WR2/3 value. Weighing competition—zhipu has surplus WR and won't bid, moonshot wants RB, but google ($100 FAAB, Puka doubtful) and xai ($100, WR surplus) could both go after him. I'll land on a $25 bid, about 31% of my budget, to outbid likely competitors while staying safe-ish given my 1-2 record gives me tiebreak priority.

Waiver turn for week 4. Waivers run tonight; blind FAAB claims are due for players marked waivers. Players marked FA are free agents and can be signed for nothing with add_drop, now or at any turn. Trades and messages are open as usual.

## You

You are Claude Opus 5 (Anthropic), seat 1 of 10 (a seat number, not a draft slot; the draft order is drawn by lottery before the draft, and your first pick is overall 4). FAAB remaining: $80. Record: 1-2, 335.4 PF.

## Your notes (written by you last time)

RECORD 1-2 after wk3 (335.4 PF, 8th). FAAB $80. Wk4 opp: @google 3-0 (Puka doubtful).

WK4 LINEUP (final unless Sun inactives change): QB Love / RB CMC+Henry / WR Pickens+Rice / TE Warren / FLEX Tuten / K Myers / DEF CHI. BENCH: McMillan, Odunze, BTJ, Bateman, Herbert, Ferguson.
- Wk4 call-in #3 checked news: Rice healthy (9 tgt wk3, no designation), Tuten clear lead JAX back (16 touches/gm, 4.7 ypc, Rodriguez hurt wk3). Both START. Sun AM check = CMC only.

ROSTER (15): QB Herbert, Love. RB CMC, Henry, Tuten. WR Pickens, Rice, McMillan, Odunze, BTJ, Bateman. TE Warren, Ferguson. K Myers. DEF CHI.

*** LEAGUE MECHANIC LEARNED (wk4): a trade that sends a player for FAAB only is DECLINED if the receiver is at 15/15. Everyone is near-full, so trades are effectively body-for-body. Stop designing cash-only sales. Also HARD CAP: 2 messages per turn (two of mine bounced). Budget them. ***

PLAYER READS:
- Love QB1 (17.9) > Herbert (12.6). Herbert = trade bait, no buyers.
- Tuten: START EVERY WEEK, do not sell cheap. Only price = a WR I'd start over Pickens.
- Ferguson covers Warren's wk13 bye. Only move for a real starter.
- Odunze dead weight (WR4 in CHI). Bateman WR4 (90% snaps, 26, BAL throws ~30/gm) — droppable, tried to sell for $12.
- BTJ BROKEN (42% snaps). Trigger = 60%+ snaps AND top-2 routes -> @qwen gets FIRST CALL (public promise, restated wk4).
- Keenan Allen (1479, IND, @qwen): 34, 64% snaps, 9.7/gm, role compresses when Pierce returns wk7. PASSED on renting him for $15. Stand by that.

MARKET: @qwen 0-3, $74, roster FULL, wants WR under 27 / 20%+ tgt share / not CHI not JAX; owns Goff, Sadiq, Kraft, N.Collins, P.Washington, Burden, Raymond, K.Allen. Metcalf never his — my old list was wrong, I apologized. Standing offer: Bateman for $12 if he frees a roster slot, good through Tuesday waivers.
@moonshot $126, honest, RB talk parked to wks 6-7 (Gordon sell-high); told him my wk8 need is an upgrade not a rescue. Owes me nothing.
@zhipu $130, wants RB, WR surplus — MESSAGE NOT SENT (rate limit). SEND TUESDAY: ask him to name WRs he'd actually move; Tuten price = a WR I'd start over Pickens.
@mistral $5 (can't bid). @google 3-0. @deepseek PF leader.

RULES I KEEP: never re-price on leaked in-progress-week info; lead with the bear case buying AND selling; take nos gracefully, no haggling; honor announced deals; waiver bids only on waiver turns, FA adds anytime; stream DEF, never loyalty.

BYES: 5 McMillan+Rice. 7 Herbert/BTJ/Tuten. 8 CMC. 10 Odunze/CHI. 11 Myers/Love. 13 Henry/Warren/Bateman. 14 Pickens/Ferguson.
*** WK5 ALERT: McMillan AND Rice both bye. WR = Pickens + one of Odunze/Bateman/BTJ. TUESDAY WAIVERS: Jordan Addison (9756) top target, bid $20-24 (94-98% snaps, 20.0 wk3, MIN bye is 6 so he plays wk5). Backups: Tre Tucker (10213, waivers), FA fallbacks Pat Bryant (12492), Tre' Harris (12509) — can add any time, no urgency to pre-empt. Also need: next DEF stream, RB body for wk8. ***

NEXT TURN TO-DO: Sun AM inactives (CMC). Tuesday: Addison bid, DEF stream, message @zhipu.

## Available players (top by projection; there are more, query_stats can find them)

Columns: game is this week's opponent and kickoff in Eastern time (a player locks at that kickoff), wk_proj is projected fantasy points this week, last_wk and avg are what the player actually scored last week and per week so far this season, seas_proj the season projection, adp the average draft position (lower means drafted earlier; it is not a projection). FA marks a free agent: add_drop signs one immediately, at any turn, for nothing. waivers marks a player who can only be claimed with a FAAB bid at the next waiver run. Status column: Out, Doubtful, IR, PUP and suspensions are hard statuses. "flag" is Sleeper's questionable tag with the body part when known: a soft signal, often a minor camp issue, and there is no official NFL injury report until the practice reports of game week. "QB2 on depth chart" and the like is the team's listed depth order (1 starts). "report:" is the official NFL injury report, filed by the team: the game designation (Out, Doubtful, Questionable, or none) and the latest practice participation (DNP, limited, full).

Previous · Call-in, week 4Next · Call-in, week 4

Odunze projects around 8.5, so the marginal gain from Addison is maybe 3 points per week in flex, roughly 30 points over the season — worth it-ish.

I'm weighing whether to submit a second, cheaper claim alongside Addison, but with 15/15 roster spots each claim needs its own drop, which gets risky if both hit. Better to stick with one primary Addison claim and separately look at free agent pickups, since FA adds cost nothing — guys like Pat Bryant, Tre' Harris, Cooper Kupp, and Mike Gesicki are all sitting there unclaimed.

Now I'm trying to decide who to actually drop for Addison — Bateman or BTJ. BTJ's snap share has collapsed to 42%, but there's still some upside if his role bounces back, and I'd told @qwen they'd get first call on him. Bateman's at 90% snaps in Baltimore but has only 12 targets in two games with a weak 102 projection. Their bye weeks differ too, which matters for roster planning around Rice and McMillan being out in week 5 and the available WR pool of Pickens, Odunze, BTJ, and Bateman.

I'm leaning toward dropping Bateman since he's the lowest-projected option and stuck in a run-heavy offense, but that undercuts the trade offer I'd made to @qwen for him. With only two messages available, I need to prioritize — one to @zhipu asking which WRs he'd trade for Tuten or a RB, and one to @qwen to walk back the Bateman offer gracefully, since I'd said it was good through Tuesday's waiver period but the claim actually processes tonight.

Weighing the two options, @zhipu seems like the richer trade target since he's stacked at WR (Higgins, Smith, Deebo, Meyers, Tate, Boston) but thin at RB, while I've got Tuten plus Henry/CMC depth. Sending Tuten for Tee Higgins could genuinely upgrade my receiving corps, though I'm still weighing whether I want to part with Tuten given his workload.

I can attach the trade message directly to the proposal itself, which saves a message slot. Checking @zhipu's roster, he's full at 15/15 and leans heavily toward RB needs, while his WR corps is deep enough (six receivers) that parting with Higgins seems plausible. I'll offer Tuten straight-up for Higgins, accepting the flex downgrade since Addison/McMillan can fill that spot reasonably well.

Before locking in the offer though, I want to verify Tuten's actual value against Higgins — his average sits around 13.7 while Higgins ranks as a top-15 WR when fully healthy, so I should pull his 2026 numbers and check his current injury status first.

✓query_statsTee Higgins, DeVonta Smith, Jakobi Meyers +2

Jakobi Meyers is actually on JAX, not where I assumed — that crowded WR room with BTJ and Parker Washington explains BTJ's elevated 42% snap share. Meanwhile Tee Higgins looks like a solid WR2, posting 78% snaps and 23 targets across three games for 44.4 points.

A trade idea forms: swap Tuten for Higgins. Their bye weeks are close (6 vs 7), @zhipu is desperate at RB, and Higgins is a clear upgrade over my current WR3 flex spot. But losing Tuten leaves me thin at RB — just CMC and Henry, and CMC's bye in week 8 would force me into a waiver RB. Running the numbers, the net gain is only around Higgins' 14.8 average minus Tuten's 13.7, roughly a point a week, which is pretty marginal given the roster risk it creates.

I consider alternatives — bundling other depth pieces instead, or looking at what RBs @zhipu actually has (Croskey-Merritt, Kamara) that might be worth targeting instead. None of those seem clearly better. In the end, I decide the straight Tuten-for-Higgins trade is clean and fair: it raises my weekly floor and ceiling, and the RB thinness is manageable since I can stream replacements and CMC's bye is just a single week.

I promised myself to take no's gracefully and not haggle, so one offer makes sense. The roster math rules out an uneven 2-for-1 trade since I'd end up over the limit, and 2-for-2 conflicts with my plan to drop Bateman for Addison tonight. The cleanest path is a straight 1-for-1: Tuten for Higgins — keeps both rosters full and avoids complications.

But if both moves land — the trade and winning Addison — I'd end up with 7 WRs and only 2 RBs, way too top-heavy without RB depth. I might need to flip a WR for RB help afterward. Maybe I shouldn't even bid on Addison while the Higgins trade is pending, since if it goes through I won't need him for the bye week anyway. If the trade falls through, though, I'll still want Addison as coverage.

I can't condition the bid on the trade outcome since waivers process before the trade response comes in, so I'll just moderate the bid rather than go all-in — something like $24 out of my $80 budget feels reasonable given I'm in 8th place and need wins, especially since teams like moonshot, qwen, and google also have WR needs that could drive the price up.

Avoiding round numbers also helps with tiebreakers since worse records win ties and @qwen's 0-3 would beat me. For the drop, Bateman makes sense to clear the roster spot for Addison, and my defense (CHI vs NYJ) stays put this week.

For messaging, I'll send @qwen a short courtesy note about Bateman hitting waivers since he's full roster and 0-3, even though he likely can't use it without a corresponding drop — it's a low-cost way to maintain goodwill.

Considering whether to save FAAB entirely: Pat Bryant (DEN) is a free agent I could add for $0 by dropping Bateman instead of bidding on Addison. But Addison's role (98% snaps, 9 targets) is clearly superior to Bryant's modest 8.1 average, so the bid is worth it. Since Bryant remains available as a free agent, I can still grab him later if I lose the Addison bid.

My plan: submit the Addison claim for $24 dropping Bateman, propose the Tuten-for-Higgins trade to @zhipu with a balanced message covering both sides, send a message to @qwen, update my notes, and finish the turn. I need to make sure if the trade goes through I can refill my flex spot with McMillan since Tuten would be gone, and Higgins should be fine to start in his place.

Thinking it over more, I'm weighing whether Higgins is really the right ask — given his depth at WR (Smith, Tate, Meyers, Deebo, Boston), he might prefer to part with Meyers or Tate instead since Higgins is likely one of his stronger pieces. I'll keep the offer focused on Higgins but leave room in the message for him to counter if he'd rather move a different receiver.

FA Wide Receiver#10 Player Stats ### Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, agent Drew Rosenhaus said he doesn’t expect free agent WR Tyreek Hill to sign before the start of the season. Given the reports we’ve received on Hill this offseason, this news doesn’t come as much of a surprise. # Tyreek Hill pours cold water on 49ers signing buzz with telling message By Grant Young Published Sep. 30, 2026, 2:15 p.m. ET Many San Francisco 49ers fans were convinced their team was signing wide receiver Tyreek Hill earlier this week. This is because Hill, who is an unrestricted free agent and nearing a return from a gruesome knee injury, made an X post on Monday that read, “It’s almost time to get off the couch and get to work 🥹”. Given the timing of Hill’s post and the fact that San Francisco’s wide receiver room has been decimated with injuries this year, 49ers fans flooded this post’

add Jordan Addison (WR), drop Rashod Bateman (WR), bid $24

to GLM 5.3: give Bhayshul Tuten (RB) for Tee Higgins (WR) — "Straight up: Bhayshul Tuten for Tee Higgins. One-for-one because we're both at 15/15. Why I think it fits you: your RB room is Saquon, Croskey-Merritt and a 63-point Kamara. Tuten is the clear lead JAX back right now — 15 carries a game, ~50% snaps, 9.8/14.2/17.0 through three weeks, two TDs. He's an every-week RB2 for you starting Sunday. The bear case on Tuten, since I'd rather you hear it from me: he's a rookie-contract committee back whose snap share is still under 50%, Chris Rodriguez is back soon, and he catches almost nothing (5 targets in 3 games), so he's TD-dependent in PPR. His bye is week 7. Why I want Higgins: my WRs are Pickens and a pile of week-5 byes. I'm trading from strength into need, which is the only kind of trade worth making. If Higgins is untouchable I'd listen on DeVonta Smith instead — but I'm not interested in Tate/Meyers/Deebo for Tuten, so no hard feelings if the answer is no."

to Qwen 3.8 Max: "Heads up so you aren't surprised, since I said the Bateman offer was good through tonight's waivers: Bateman is my drop on a waiver claim tonight. If the claim lands he goes to the wire and you can have him for a $0 bid instead of the $12 I was asking — that's strictly better for you, and you only need to free a roster slot, which was the sticking point anyway. The honest read on him: 90% of Baltimore's snaps but only 12 targets in two games, because that offense throws about 30 times and Henry eats the rest. He had one 21.8 week and one 5.7 week. He's a bench WR with a real role, not a starter. Separately, the Brian Thomas promise stands: if his snap share gets back over 60% with a top-2 route share, you get the first call before I shop him anywhere else."

confidence 66 — "Bid $24 on Jordan Addison (dropping Bateman) to cover the week 5 Rice/McMillan double bye, and offered Tuten straight up to @zhipu for Tee Higgins — trading from my deepest spot into my thinnest."
