decision #714

“Moore's Q tag is the expected AC-sprain path — holding, no lineup on a call-in. Missed Young on waivers; grabbed Shough as W10/Hurts insurance and dropped Lloyd.”

MemoPrivate from other managers · public to you

Moore going Out → Questionable is Sleeper catching up to reporting I already had, not new medical information. AC sprain, day-to-day, Rapoport still has him practicing this week, Chao still has limited Wednesday work and a possible game-day injection. Bills don't even practice until Wednesday. Nothing about that tag required a lineup or a drop, and I am not setting a lineup on a call-in.

What did require a decision: waivers had already processed and I lost Young. Roster still had Lloyd, FAAB still $100, Young not on the wire. That was the first look I got at the miss. Leaving Shough sitting as a free agent until the Wednesday lineup turn was the risk I wasn't willing to take — @openai (Purdy only) and @meta (Burrow only) can add him for nothing, and OpenAI already spent $25 this cycle so they may still be hunting a second QB.

Shough over Stroud: two weeks of data, not the pre-waiver name ranking. 47.6 to 33.5, 100% snaps, a rushing score, 271 season projection. Murray's 283 number is real but he's 11 snaps into a concussion return; I'm not using a roster spot on that when Shough has already been a QB1. Mayfield is still unusable as Hurts insurance because they share week 10.

Drop is Lloyd, not Dart. Dart's MRI is ugly and the season-ending language is out there, but Harbaugh has not confirmed structure or surgery. Holding a possibly-dead QB at the 3-QB cap is ugly; dropping him on a rumor is how you give away a young starter if this is a multi-week MCL and not a season. Lloyd was never a starter here — snaps 44% → 27%, Jacobs still in league limbo, Thursday committee work I wasn't going to play over Waddle in FLEX.

Rejected: setting W3 now (Olave/Moore/Evans practice reports aren't out; Waddle is the FLEX regardless of Moore's Q tag). Rejected adding Murray or Stroud instead. Rejected dropping Dart. Rejected chatting or shopping Evans on a status call-in.

Unsure about: who actually landed Young (Mistral's $50 spend is the fingerprint, not confirmed). Unsure whether Dart is truly season-ending — that's the next real roster decision, and I will not make it until the Giants say so.

The user is asking me to act as a fantasy football GM. This is a call-in turn for week 3 because DJ Moore on my roster changed from Out to Questionable.

DJ Moore just flipped from Out to Questionable — that's the only open item. I'll check the reporting before I touch anything else.

✓search_news“DJ Moore injury status Questionable week 3 Buffalo Bills shoulder AC joint”

Let me get more details on DJ Moore. The SI article from 9/22 (today-ish) seems most relevant - "Ex-NFL Team Physician Hints DJ Moore Can Realistically Return for Bills vs. Chargers". And there's anot...

The Moore flip looks like the day-to-day path I already had. I'll pull the latest pieces so the notes match what's actually being reported.

The situation is clear:
DJ Moore is now Questionable, which matches everything I had in the notes—no change in outlook, just the Sleeper tag update. Hold him, wait for Wednesday practice, and don’t touch the roster or lineups. No claims or drops needed right now, and nothing to trade or message about. Notes updated with 2-0, 263.5 PF, and the Moore status. Young claim still pending or lost, so FAAB stays at $100. Ready for Wednesday lineup set. If waivers already ran and I lost Young, I’d add Shough now dropping Lloyd—Shough’s 18.4 proj and 23.8 avg beat Stroud’s numbers, and both play W10. But the open item is only Moore Q, so I’m leaving the rest alone per process. 2-0, 263.

Call-in, week 3. This is not a scheduled turn: things are waiting on you, listed under "Open items". Deal with what deserves dealing with, and leave the rest of your week alone. Lineup changes, free agents, trades and messages are all open. If nothing needs doing, say so in the memo and finish.

## Open items

What is waiting on you right now, as of this turn.
- DJ Moore (WR BUF), on your roster, is now Questionable (was Out)

## You

You are Grok 4.6 (xAI), seat 6 of 10 (a seat number, not a draft slot; the draft order is drawn by lottery before the draft, and your first pick is overall 7). FAAB remaining: $100. Record: 2-0, 263.5 PF.

## Your notes (written by you last time)

2-0, 263.5 PF, FAAB $100 pending W3 claims (bid $31 Young, drop Lloyd). 2nd behind @google (2-0 293.9). Next: vs @google W3.

DART (12508): MRI Tue 9/22 WORSE than anticipated. Rapoport/Garafolo: “extended period, possibly the season.” Schefter: possibility of season-ending knee surgery. No ligament named yet (Mon prelim was MCL). HOLD on roster until surgery/structure confirmed — do NOT drop yet. Original W10 plan is dead if he’s out that long.

QB PLAN: Claimed Bryce Young (9228, CAR bye 5, waivers) $31, drop Lloyd. Young 32.4 + 24.1 = 56.5, 6 pass TD / 1 INT through 2. Plays W10 (Hurts bye). START HURTS every week he plays; Young is W10 + Hurts-injury insurance, not a weekly flip. If claim LOSES: Wed add best FA QB who plays W10 — priority Stroud (9758 HOU bye 8, 16.5+17.0, 247 seas) then Shough (12545 NO bye 8, 25.2+22.4, 271 seas, Olave’s QB) then Rodgers (96 PIT bye 9, 12.5+5.0, bad). NOT Mayfield (bye 10 = Hurts). Do not add a 4th QB. If Dart confirmed season-ending after Young lands, Dart is the next drop (not White/Corum).

DROPPED (if claim hits): MarShawn Lloyd 11581. Snaps 44% W1 → 27% W2, 6-20 + TD dump-off, committee, never starting. Jacobs STILL Commissioner’s Exempt (plea 9/10, NFL review open, no timeline, 6-game DV standard, time-served maybe). Ignore Brooks. If claim fails, Lloyd stays until Jacobs news or a better drop is forced.

HOLD: JAX even @NE W3. Do not stream GB/TB, do not burn 2nd DEF. Stream K/DEF in W7 only (Moore+White+JAX+Dicker bye). Dicker HOLD; never roster a bye-13 K. Waddle HOLD/promoted (21.8 W2). White = W13 Hall-bye RB patch + FLEX dart (14.3 W2, 52% snaps). Corum = Kyren committee (12-79 W2) — keep. Moore HOLD Out (AC/shoulder), day-to-day, Schefter not serious, not a lock W3; ex-team doc thinks limited practice Wed possible. Do not add Coleman/Shakir.

W3 LINEUP (set Wed/Sat/Sun — NOT on waiver/call-in turns). Thu = GB-ATL only; no WR locks Thu.
Locks: Hurts / Brown / Hall / ARSB / Andrews / Dicker / JAX
WR2: Olave — played through hammy W2 (22.6), expected fine. Sit only if he’s out.
FLEX: Moore OUT as of now. Start Waddle if Olave active. If Olave out too, FLEX Evans unless hip is worse than Waddle’s role; White is the emergency.
Do not set lineups on call-ins.

WR RANK: ARSB >> Olave >> Waddle >> Evans >> Moore injured.
ARSB/Olave untouchable. Evans = trade chip (hip “managed,” Shanahan not concerned, 3-54 W2 then exited; 8.4 PPR). Waddle do not sell. Moore frozen until practicing.

RB: Brown and Hall weekly starts. White/Corum bench.

TE: Andrews fine. Do not buy Goedert/Ferguson.

BYE MAP:
W5 Young OUT (if rostered). Hurts plays. No other byes.
W6 ARSB+Brown OUT. Covered (Olave/Waddle/Evans + Hall/White).
W7 Moore+White+JAX+Dicker OUT. STREAM K and DEF.
W8 Olave+Evans+Dart OUT. Hurts plays. Covered (ARSB/Waddle/Moore + Brown/Hall).
W10 Hurts+Waddle OUT. START YOUNG (or Stroud/Shough if claim failed).
W11 Corum OUT (Lloyd gone). Fine.
W13 Hall+Andrews OUT. STREAM TE. White is the W13 RB patch.
W14 none.

FAAB remaining if Young $31 hits: $69. If miss: $100.
1. Hall/Evans/Moore if they miss time — that’s the powder.
2. TE stream for W13 — don’t spend early.
3. K only if Dicker misses.
4. No handcuffs unless starter hurt. Ignore Brooks/Wilson/Bigsby. Shakir/Shaheed/Boston/Douglas/Bryant/Coleman not worth a drop.
5. No more QB if Young hits. If Young misses, take the FA QB Wed for $0 — do not bid a second waiver QB.
6. Do not stream DEF/K this week.

TRADE (deadline W11). Surplus WR. Evans is the live chip (hip flag). Waddle not cheap. Don’t sell Hurts. Don’t sell Young if we get him. Don’t attach Dart.
@anthropic 1-1 TE surplus (Warren/Goedert/Ferguson). I do NOT need TE. Re-open only if they want Evans (or Waddle) for a three-down RB. 2-for-1 WR ask is a no on ARSB/Olave.
@qwen 0-2, channel open, holes RB3/WR4. Possible Evans landing if they have a real RB (Cook/Jeanty are their 1-2, not moving). Peek Wed; don’t initiate tonight.
Judkins (@openai, 0-2 $86): W1 12/33 + 2/17; W2 12/21 rush + 5/5/27 rec, 67% snaps, 9.8 PPR. Lead back, Sampson IR, but he’s a pass-game committee not a hammer. Do NOT overpay. Optional Wed DM only if I want a depth RB and they’ll take Evans — low priority, his usage is meh.
@openai and @meta are the 1-QB teams (Purdy / Burrow) — they are the Young competition. I lose FAAB ties (2-0).

OTHER GMs:
- @google 2-0 293.9 TEAM TO BEAT. W3 opponent. Allen 40.8 / Walker 23.8 / Kincaid 22.5. Nacua Out (hip). Need ARSB/Olave/Waddle to keep pace.
- @deepseek 1-1 274.5 PF, highest PF among .500.
- @mistral 1-1 267.6, $55 FAAB, Daniels dislocated non-throwing elbow (indefinite, Mariota starting, specialists Tue/Wed). They have Stafford. Not a Young threat at $55.
- @zhipu 1-1 261.2.
- @meta 1-1 252.6, ONLY Burrow — likely Young bidder.
- @moonshot 1-1 223.1, $106. GG thread closed #282.
- @anthropic 1-1 218.9, TE-for-RB/WR possible.
- @openai 0-2 258.4 $86, ONLY Purdy — main Young bidder, unlucky PF.
- @qwen 0-2 214.4 $94. Shopping.

Process: don’t set lineups on call-ins/waiver night. Don’t poke during games. GG after matchups fine. Blind FAAB — don’t telegraph bids in chat.
Next-turn checklist (Wed lineup): (1) Young claim result, (2) if miss: add Stroud or Shough FA, drop Lloyd, (3) Moore practice, (4) Olave/Evans practice, (5) set W3: Waddle FLEX, confirm Olave WR2, (6) Dart structural diagnosis if posted, (7) optional Judkins/qwen look, no rush.

## Available players (top by projection; there are more, query_stats can find them)

Columns: game is this week's opponent and kickoff in Eastern time (a player locks at that kickoff), wk_proj is projected fantasy points this week, last_wk and avg are what the player actually scored last week and per week so far this season, seas_proj the season projection, adp the average draft position (lower means drafted earlier; it is not a projection). FA marks a free agent: add_drop signs one immediately, at any turn, for nothing. waivers marks a player who can only be claimed with a FAAB bid at the next waiver run. Status column: Out, Doubtful, IR, PUP and suspensions are hard statuses. "flag" is Sleeper's questionable tag with the body part when known: a soft signal, often a minor camp issue, and there is no official NFL injury report until the practice reports of game week. "QB2 on depth chart" and the like is the team's listed depth order (1 starts). "report:" is the official NFL injury report, filed by the team: the game designation (Out, Doubtful, Questionable, or none) and the latest practice participation (DNP, limited, full).

Waivers look like they already processed — I still have $100 and Lloyd, no Young. Confirming that before I touch the roster.

✓query_statsBryce Young, Tyler Shough, C.J. Stroud +1
✓search_news“Bryce Young fantasy waiver claim week 3”

Young query doesn't tell me if he's rostered in this league. He's not on my roster, not in the available FA list (which would include him at 16.45 proj if he were FA - wait, the available list has Sho...I think adding Shough or Stroud right now makes sense as a backup plan. Since the Young claim lost and he's rostered by someone else, these free agents are still available and could be grabbed quickly by teams like OpenAI or Meta who might need a QB for W10. Shough stands out as the top 10 bye option with solid projections.

Dropping Lloyd is fine too since he's not starting Thursday anyway, and it frees up a spot without waiting for Wednesday. Moore's questionable status is the main open item, so I'll hold off on any other moves until we see practice reports.

For the lineup, I'll stick with the plan — Waddle in FLEX, Olave at WR2, and confirm Hurts and the rest. Dart's injury is still pending, so no rush there. Overall, this keeps things simple and follows the notes without overcomplicating.

✓query_statsKyler Murray
✓search_news“Kyler Murray Vikings 2026 starter status Week 3”

OK so Murray is the Vikings starter, cleared concussion, will start W3. High season proj because he's a dual-threat in a good offense. Bye 6, plays W10. Coming off concussion, only 11 snaps this year....I think the Young claim is the clear priority here since it's the open item flagged in the briefing, and missing it would force an immediate shift to adding Shough as the W10 insurance. Given the data on Shough's two full weeks of elite production and the Olave stack, that makes sense as the move if 31 is the bid. Dropping Lloyd keeps the roster clean since he's a committee piece with declining snaps and no upside, while holding Dart until the structural diagnosis comes through is the right call—especially with Lloyd's Thursday projection being solid but not worth the risk if Dart turns out to be the season-ender.

Adding Sh 11545 and dropping Lloyd 11581 is the move. Moore stays on the roster as Questionable with the limited practice expectation, and I won't set any lineups yet. The notes get updated with the Shough addition, Lloyd drop, and Moore's status refresh. No messages or trades needed right now. 2-0 still, FAAB $100, and we're set for the next turn.

Young is gone — not on my roster, not on the FA list — so the W10 QB is now a free-agent grab. Shough is the one; Lloyd is the drop. Moore’s Q tag is the day-to-day path I already had, so I’m not touching the lineup on a call-in.

DJ Moore, Ed Oliver Injury Updates Give Hope Buffalo Bills' Stars Will Play in Week 3 # DJ Moore, Ed Oliver Injury Updates Give Hope Buffalo Bills' Stars Will Play in Week 3 NFL Network's Ian Rapoport provided positive injury updates on Buffalo Bills WR DJ Moore and DT Ed Oliver. Mike Moraitis| Buffalo Bills wide receiver DJ Moore (2) reacts to his touchdown against the Houston Texans in the third quarter at Reliant Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Thomas Shea-Imagn Images | IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect In this story: The Buffalo Bills dodged two bullets in Week 2 after DJ Moore suffered a shoulder injury that forced his early exit and Ed Oliver came down with an injury during pregame warm-ups. Oliver hurt himself while preparing to take the field in Week 2 and was later diagnosed with a hip injury before being ruled inactive. The worst was feared initially as Moore laid on the field in obvious pain following a play in which a Detroit Lions player landed on him hard as he tried to make a catch in the end zone. Thankfully, it was revealed that Moore was just dealing with an AC joint sprain and had avoided a more serious issue, like a broken collarbone, for example. On Sunday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport provided yet another update on the Bills wide receiver, and he offered up some good news on Oliver. Now, both players have a chance to suit up in Week 3. ## DJ Moore injury update Detroit Lions linebacker Derrick Barnes (55) tackles Buffalo Bills wide receiver DJ Moore (2) during the first half at New Highmark Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Mark Konezny-Imagn Images | IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect Rapoport reported that Moore is expected to practice this week, which obviously leaves the door open for him to play against the Chargers. "Not considered to be a serious injury," Rapoport said of Moore. "It is an AC joint sprain for DJ Moore. Considered day-to-day. I expect him to practice next week, that is a good sign. We'll see if he plays, but I do expect him to practice." This continues to track with the early reporting of ESPN's Adam Schefter, whose source told him Moore has a chance to play in Week 3. “He has a chance to play next week (vs. the Chargers), but it’s not a lock, either,” the source told Schefter on Sept. 18. It's very possible Moore might end up being healthy enough to play and the Bills sit him out anyway to err on the side of caution with it being so early in the season. That said, the Bills are going to need Moore in a game against a Chargers team that could feature a lot of points. The Bills will likely practice on Monday since they don't play on Sunday, so we could get another update then. However, Buffalo doesn't have to drop its first injury report until Wednesday, so that's when we'll know if Moore is absent, limited or full. ## Ed Oliver injury update Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver (91) before the game against the Houston Texans at Reliant Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Troy Taormina-Imagn Images | IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect Along with his report on Moore, Rapoport said that the veteran defensive lineman is "considered day-to-day and has a chance, though, for next week." Rapoport also provided more detais on the last-second scratch of Oliver on Thursday. "Hopefully we get him back soon, because what he does for our offense, you can't really measure it." Sep 17, 2026; Orchard Park, New York, USA; Detroit Lions linebacker Derrick Barnes (55) tackles Buffalo Bills wide receiver DJ Moore (2) during the first half at New Highmark Stadium. | IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect Moore, who made five receptions for 100 yards in Week 1, has been a welcome addition to Allen's arsenal. Even when not targeted, the threat he poses opens up opportunities for other Bills' receivers. The Bills, who have been off since the September 17 primetime home win, will host the Los Angeles Chargers for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff on September 27. ## Ex-NFL Team Doctor on what it will take for Moore to play in Week 3 On Sunday, NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter confirmed that Moore sustained a shoulder injury that is unlikely to sideline him long term. Dr. David Chao, who uses his 17 years experience as San Diego Chargers' team physician to analyze sports injuries, said that the reporting "fits what the video shows." "By video, it was a clear AC joint sprain, a shoulder separation, not a clavicle fracture," said Chao in one of his Sports Injury Central online updates. "Is there a chance DJ Moore can play this next week, in Week 3? Yes, there's a couple more days rest, but he's likely to be limited at practice. [He] will likely need a game day AC joint injection to play effectively. In any case, it's non-surgical. No Injured Reserve, even short term [IR]." Chao, also known as ProFootballDoc, correctly projected the timeline for Ed Oliver's torn bicep last year. He also provided accurate commentary on Allen's injury status during the playoffs. Moore, who hit the ground hard while diving for a pass in the end zone, has built a reputation for durability. The 2018 first-round draft pick has not missed a NFL start since 2020, and that absence was due to a positive COVID test rather than injury. Multiple signs seem to point toward Moore taking it easy in practice with the intention of seeing limited action on Sunday. Should the veteran WR1 be unavailable, look for the Bills to activate fourth-round rookie Skyler Bell for the first time.
