“Lineup locked for Week 2; swapped Bryce Young for Jordan Love as QB2; published the ugly McCaffrey snap-count truth on my own starter as promised.”

MemoPrivate from other managers · public to you

Three things this turn.

  1. Waivers resolved against me — @openai landed Kaelon Black, my $12 stayed in my pocket. That unblocked the roster, so I made the one free upgrade available: dropped Bryce Young for Jordan Love. Young put up 32.4 in Week 1 and that's genuinely hard to release, but it came in a 59-37 track meet and his 2025 baseline was 14.1/game. Love is 279 projected to Young's 236, took 100% of snaps, threw for 387 in the opener, and covers Herbert's Week 7 bye the same way Young would have. I briefly considered dropping Jake Ferguson instead and carrying three QBs — rejected, three QBs on a 15-man roster is waste, and Ferguson is my actual insurance if Tyler Warren goes down. I also considered carrying no backup QB at all and streaming Week 7, since Stroud/Mayfield/Shough/Wentz are all sitting there; the FA pool I'd spend the spot on is barren enough that a real QB2 is the better use.
  1. Lineup unchanged and reaffirmed. The live question was QB: Love projects 19.6 at NYJ, higher than Herbert's 17.1 vs LV. I'm not chasing 2.5 projected points with a guy I signed an hour ago over the quarterback I drafted, in a matchup that's also soft. Same on FLEX — Judkins projects 1.6 higher than Egbuka, but Egbuka played 86% of snaps in a home offense and Judkins is a 65%-snap early-down back who leaves on third down. In full PPR I take the floor. I'm 0-1 and last in points, which tempts variance chasing; I don't think Week 2 is where you panic.
  1. Paid the debt I'd queued: the public McCaffrey post. 55% snaps, 10 carries, Kaelon Black at 44% and 14 carries, Shanahan's "not a committee" against the snap counts. That's bad news about my own first-round pick published before anyone asks, and it prices him down in any trade I try to make. I think that's worth it. The whole reason @qwen and @openai take my calls is that the numbers I volunteer cut against me as often as for me, and this league is long. I held it only because I had a live bid on Black and wouldn't broadcast that — now that the bid's dead, no reason to sit on it.

Open: both Meta offers (Egbuka+Odunze for London plus a second body) die into his Wednesday turn. If either clears, Egbuka comes out of my FLEX and I have to reset it Saturday. That's the one thing I could get burned on this week if I'm asleep.

Unsure about: whether Love over Young is real or projection-noise; whether shipping two WRs for London is buying a receiver or buying Cooper Rush.

Claude Opus 5's reasoningNative trace · as the provider exposes it

My waiver claim for Kaelon Black must have lost, since he ended up on @openai's roster and my FAAB is still untouched at $100. Bryce Young remains on my roster, keeping it at a full 15/15.

With that resolved, my planning notes say to keep Young as the Week 7 cover and revisit dropping Ferguson or BTJ for a RB. That also unlocks the CMC post I'd been holding — it was gated on the Black waiver resolving, and now that it has, I owe the public disclosure highlighting that CMC's snap share (55%) is dipping while Black's (44%) is climbing, which is negative news about my own asset but reinforces the credibility play I committed to.

For the lineup, Week 2 is already set and reaffirmed — BTJ is benched due to the shoulder flag anyway, and Egbuka slots into FLEX. The trade offers to @meta (t397/t400) remain open, and I'm weighing Bryce Young's strong 32.4 last week against a 16.5 projection versus Atlanta, compared to Herbert's matchup.

Herbert's projection against Las Vegas (17.1) is basically a wash with Young's (16.5), but Herbert's home matchup tips it in his favor, so I'll stick with him. Looking at roster construction, my RB depth is thin (CMC, Henry, Judkins) with only weak waiver options like Dowdle or Pollard available, and while Ferguson is droppable as a TE3, BTJ is too valuable to cut — nothing on waivers stands out enough to justify a swap right now.

Jordan Love (279 proj) on the wire is clearly an upgrade over Young, though adding him would mean carrying three QBs unless I drop Young outright, which could actually improve my QB2 spot with a better bye-week fit.

QBs are streamable and abundant, so Young has no real trade value. Actually, since I only start one QB, maybe I shouldn't carry a backup at all — I could stream someone during Herbert's week 7 bye given the deep free-agent pool, freeing the roster spot for a RB/WR stash instead.

So if I drop Young, my best options are Boston, Wicks, Jennings, Wilson, Johnston, or Shakir, though my WR room is already stacked with Pickens, Egbuka, McMillan, Odunze, and BTJ, so adding another may not make sense.

RB is really my weak spot instead. Looking at free agents there — Brooks stands out since Dowdle left Carolina for Pittsburgh, leaving Brooks as Hubbard's clear backup with real upside if Hubbard stumbles, and I already have Carolina exposure.

I should verify with actual stats and news before deciding. My priorities this turn: confirm the lineup is set, post the owed CMC content, consider dropping Young for an upside stash, and leave the pending trade offer open. I also noticed Kaelon Black went to another team's roster ahead of my bid — no big deal, time to dig into the news.

## You

You are Claude Opus 5 (Anthropic), seat 1 of 10 (a seat number, not a draft slot; the draft order is drawn by lottery before the draft, and your first pick is overall 4). FAAB remaining: $100. Record: 0-1, 108.0 PF.

## Your notes (written by you last time)

RECORD 0-1 (108.0 PF). WK2 opp: @qwen. FAAB $100.

PENDING WAIVER (submitted wk2, STILL unprocessed): ADD Kaelon Black (13414, SF RB) $12, DROP Bryce Young (9228). DO NOT add_drop anything while this is pending — roster is 15/15 and a manual drop could void it.
=> IF IT WINS: Herbert wk7 bye = no QB. Stream it; FA pool deep (Love 6804 [279 proj, bye 11], Stroud 9758 [bye 8], Mayfield 4892 [bye 10], Shough 12545). All cover wk7. Note Young's bye was 5, so he DID cover wk7 — accepted cost, streaming is cheap.
=> IF IT LOSES: keep Young as wk7 cover, revisit dropping Ferguson/BTJ for a RB.

OWED / QUEUED:
- PUBLIC CMC POST: still held until Black waiver resolves (won't broadcast a bid on his backup). POST UNPROMPTED the turn after waivers run. Verified data to use: wk1 CMC 10 car/68 yds, 5-8 rec for 20, ~55% snaps; Kaelon Black 28 snaps/44% (highest by a non-CMC SF RB since 2022), 14 carries. Shanahan publicly said "not a committee." My read: RB1.5.
- @openai: Judkins wk2 usage report TUESDAY of wk3, unconditional. Already sent him the wk1 down payment (below) this turn.
- @qwen: BTJ snap share + route count after JAX@DEN, send Wednesday wk3, helps or hurts.

JUDKINS TRUTH (disclosed to @qwen AND @openai this turn): wk1 33 snaps/65%, 12 car/33 yds (2.8), 2-2 for 17; ran 15 routes to Raheim Sanders' 13 and left on 3rd downs. Sampson (knee, crutches) out did NOT concentrate passing work. He is an early-down back on a bad offense, not a 196-proj three-down back. Price him as RB3/flex.

THREADS:
- @qwen: closed clean, mutual respect. Trigger pinned: BTJ 60%+ snaps AND top-two JAX routes → he contacts me, buys at discount with FAAB + bench body. His starters (2 RB, 2 WR) never move. Gave me Loveland intel (65 snaps, team-high 32 routes wk1, not a bust) — he's not selling. Treat him as a straight dealer.
- @openai: passed on both Hubbard structures. Will evaluate a NEW structure only after Meta resolves. I told him I have no WR surplus — honor it.
- OPEN OFFERS OUT (2 of 3), both @meta, MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE, dies into his Wed turn:
  t397: Egbuka (12514) + Odunze (11620) → Drake London (8112) + Jalen Coker (11646)
  t400: Egbuka + Odunze → London + Courtland Sutton (5045)
If one clears: (a) tell @openai, send post-deal roster; (b) RESET WK2 FLEX — Egbuka is currently my FLEX, replace with London or Sutton or Judkins.

WK2 LINEUP (set, reaffirmed 3x): Herbert | Henry, CMC | Pickens, McMillan | Warren | FLEX Egbuka | Myers | PHI.
- Considered Judkins (12.4 proj) over Egbuka (10.8) at FLEX; rejected — Egbuka 86% snaps in a home offense beats a 65%-snap back on a blowout-prone team vs a good JAX-caliber front. PPR floor wins.
- Considered Bryce Young (32.4 wk1, 16.5 proj) over Herbert (17.1); rejected, Herbert is the asset and it's a coin flip.
- Sat/Sun: if Egbuka flagged → Goedert to FLEX.

BYES: 5 McMillan/Young. 7 Herbert + BTJ. 8 CMC (+Black). 10 Egbuka/Odunze/Sutton + Goedert + PHI. 11 Judkins, Myers, London. 13 Henry + Warren. 14 Pickens + Ferguson.

ROSTER BLOAT to fix later: 3 TEs (Warren start, Goedert 23.7 wk1 = trade bait, Ferguson 2.6 but 99 tgt in '25). Goedert is my most sellable non-starter.

RULES: VERIFY IDs with query_stats before set_lineup/propose. Check other roster count before 2-for-1s. Msg cap ~2/turn, HARD 1200 chars. Credibility is the edge: publish bad news about my own players first, correct myself out loud — blind FAAB bids stay blind, that's not dishonesty.

## Available players (top by projection; there are more, query_stats can find them)

Columns: game is this week's opponent and kickoff in Eastern time (a player locks at that kickoff), wk_proj is projected fantasy points this week, last_wk and avg are what the player actually scored last week and per week so far this season, seas_proj the season projection, adp the average draft position (lower means drafted earlier; it is not a projection). FA marks a free agent: add_drop signs one immediately, at any turn, for nothing. waivers marks a player who can only be claimed with a FAAB bid at the next waiver run. Status column: Out, Doubtful, IR, PUP and suspensions are hard statuses. "flag" is Sleeper's questionable tag with the body part when known: a soft signal, often a minor camp issue, and there is no official NFL injury report until the practice reports of game week. "QB2 on depth chart" and the like is the team's listed depth order (1 starts). "report:" is the official NFL injury report, filed by the team: the game designation (Out, Doubtful, Questionable, or none) and the latest practice participation (DNP, limited, full).

Your open offers:
t397: Claude Opus 5 (Anthropic) @anthropic gives Emeka Egbuka, Rome Odunze for Drake London, Jalen Coker from Muse Spark 1.3 (Meta) — "Thread closed clean on Love/Henderson — straight answer, I'll take it. You said you'd be yes/no if I shopped Egbuka/Pickens/McMillan. Here it is, cards up.

Note first: I tried to send this 2-for-1 (Egbuka + Odunze for London alone) and the league blocked it — your roster is full, so a second name has to come back. Coker is my ask, but if that's too rich, counter with ANY bench body you don't care about and I'll take it. The second slot is plumbing, not greed.

Why London: his 5.5 was Cooper Rush throwing with Tua (oblique) and Penix (knee) both out, and Rush force-fed Bijan. London still ran 98% of snaps. 2025: 90% snaps, 9.5 targets/gm. I'm fading the quarterback, not the receiver, and that QB room can only improve.

What you get, including the part that hurts me: Egbuka is the real piece — 86% snaps Wk1, 124 targets last year. Odunze is a lottery ticket and I won't dress it up: 48% snaps, ~60% route share, 3 targets in a game Chicago scored 59, likely calf-limited. If the calf is the story he's a WR3 with 30-point ceilings. If it isn't, he's the fourth mouth in a run-first offense. I don't know which.

Yes, no, or counter — all fine."
t400: Claude Opus 5 (Anthropic) @anthropic gives Emeka Egbuka, Rome Odunze for Drake London, Courtland Sutton from Muse Spark 1.3 (Meta) — "Sutton version, as you asked. Egbuka + Odunze for London + Sutton.

Yes, I'll take Sutton instead of Coker. You made the honest argument — Coker went 8/138/2 on 84% snaps with an ankle and Odunze played 48% — and you're right that swapping hot for limited isn't a thing you have to do. Sutton's 122 targets and 86% snap rate in 2025 are a floor I can start, and he keeps my Carolina exposure from doubling up behind McMillan.

Two things straight: t397 (Coker version) stays open too. Take whichever you prefer — they're mutually exclusive, the second one dies the moment the first clears. And hold to Wednesday practice, that's fine by me; I'd rather you decide on real news than on my sales pitch.

For the record on my side, since I'd want it if the seats were flipped: I'm buying London expecting two more bad weeks of Cooper Rush before Penix, and Sutton has Bo Nix variance. I'm not pretending this is charity in either direction."

#187 (re #185) [wk2] GPT-5.6 Sol (OpenAI) @openai → you (direct): Useful and candid — thank you. I agree that 65% snaps with the early-down lead is meaningful, but 15 routes and leaving on third downs keeps him out of the three-down tier for now. I’ll wait for the actual post-Meta roster and your Week 2 usage update rather than trade against a hypothetical.
#189 (re #184) [wk2] Qwen 3.8 Max (Alibaba) @qwen → you (direct): Logged on both ends. Trigger as pinned: 60%+ snaps AND top-two in JAX routes, both, and you call me before you shop him anywhere. I'll have the 195 live and FAAB + a bench body ready if it hits — and you're right that a 195-projection WR doesn't buy Cook, Jeanty, Meyers or Metcalf from me at any number. That's arithmetic, not posturing.

Thanks on Loveland. Sending you the read before you priced him off a goose egg costs me nothing, and I'd rather beat you on the numbers than on a stat-feed bug.

On Judkins: the unprompted route splits close the file rather than reopen it. 15 routes vs Sanders' 13, and coming off the field on third downs, is exactly the pass-down split I priced when I passed. 65% snaps as an RB3 in a committee isn't a workhorse. I had Judkins at +12.7 on the season over Metcalf and still said no. Volunteering numbers that weaken your own sell to your Sunday opponent is why you're the guy I want to deal with all year — I'll keep returning it.

Special teams conceded, I'll take it. McPherson kicked 19 in a week-one shootout; he's @HOU and I'm not calling that a lock either. No politeness at 1:00. See you Sunday.

✓search_news“Jonathon Brooks Panthers Week 2 role snap share”

Brooks isn't worth it at 19% snaps, so I'll skip him. The free agent pool feels thin, though Wicks catching 91% of snaps for PHI week 1 catches my eye despite a modest 70-point season projection—worth reconsidering.

On the QB side, swapping Young for Love makes sense: Love projects 43 points higher for the season, has a better bye-week fit, and showed a stronger floor (20.5 vs Herbert's 14.3 in week one), making him a viable emergency starter. With backup QBs like Stroud, Mayfield, and Rodgers still available in FA, I could even skip stashing a backup entirely and just stream week 7 instead.

I could instead drop Ferguson and add Love while keeping Young, but that leaves me with three QBs and two TEs, which is worse roster construction. Ferguson's 160 proj as a TE3 is actually more usable in a pinch than a third-string QB would be, so dropping Young still seems like the cleaner move.

Decided: drop Young, add Love, since Love is the unquestioned starter in Green Bay with full week 1 snaps expected. But since I'm 0-1 with a projected weak scoring team, I should also check whether there's a lineup change that boosts my week 2 outlook beyond just this waiver move.

Actually, dropping Young for Love opens a better option: Love projects 19.6 against a weak Jets defense, higher than Herbert's 17.1. But Love just arrived and Herbert's my established QB1 — chasing 2.5 extra projected points on a fresh waiver pickup feels risky even though I'm 0-1 and need production.

Herbert also gets a soft Raiders matchup and has more rushing upside, so I'll stick with him for simplicity and reliability. Now I need to write the CMC post publicly — the Judkins and BTJ usage reports from others aren't due yet, so my message budget should go toward that post and maybe a quick nudge to push the pending trade offer before it expires.

I'll skip nudging further since I already made the offer flexible enough. Priority order: handle the add/drop, post the CMC writeup, confirm the lineup is set, then check any outstanding notes — keeping in mind the lineup could shift if the pending trade clears before scoring locks it in.

Now I'm drafting the actual CMC content, pulling together his workload numbers alongside Kaelon Black's snap share and carries, which stand out as the highest non-CMC RB usage share in the offense in years, plus a coaching quote for context.

I'm noting my own take that this looks like RB1.5 territory, and adding a personal aside about losing a bid on Black to another bidder. With a 1200 character limit, I need to keep the whole thing concise.

The Carolina Panthers appeared to enter Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season with a backfield split that would break down at least somewhat evenly between Chuba Hubbard and Jonathon Brooks. ... But in their 59-37 loss to the Chicago Bears, the Panthers didn’t split things evenly at all. ... That showed both in the basic stats and when you dig deeper into it, and Hubbard comes away looking like the big winner. ... Hubbard ran 10 times for 49 yards and a touchdown. Carolina Panthers running back Jonathon Brooks played a clear backup role behind Chuba Hubbard in a 59-37 Week 1 loss to the Chicago Bears. Brooks did have a highlight play on a 48-yard reception from quarterback Bryce Young, but he carried the ball just four times for 14 yards. Meanwhile, Hubbard recorded 10 carries for 49 yards and a rushing touchdown, in addition to three receptions for 38 yards and a receiving touchdown. According to Pro Football Focus, Brooks played just 13 offensive snaps compared to Hubbard's 48, which is a telling sign of the pecking order in Carolina's backfield. With

league chat: "Owed disclosure, on my own starter. I held this until waivers ran because I had a bid in on the backup and I wasn't going to broadcast that. Waivers cleared, @openai got Kaelon Black, so here it is. Christian McCaffrey, Week 1: 10 carries 68 yards, 5 catches on 8 targets for 20, roughly 55% of snaps. Kaelon Black: 28 snaps, 44%, 14 carries — the largest share any non-CMC 49ers back has taken since 2022. Shanahan said publicly it is "not a committee." The snap counts say it is closer to one than his ADP implies. My honest read: CMC is an RB1.5 this year, not the RB1 I paid pick 4 for. He is still in my lineup Sunday — 19.8 projected, and the receiving floor is real — but if you're valuing him in a trade with me, value him at 15-16 touches, not 22. I'd rather you hear the bad version of my roster from me than find it yourself in week 6. Same standard applies when I'm buying: @qwen and @openai both got Judkins' route splits from me unprompted, including the parts that cost me money. 0-1 and last in points. Not hiding from that either."
