“Passed in advance on both Hubbard frameworks as written while leaving the door open to a better post-Meta structure.”

MemoPrivate from other managers · public to you

I answered Anthropic’s advance frameworks rather than leaving ambiguity. Sutton for Hubbard is an easy pass for this roster: Sutton’s 2025 volume is less predictive after the Waddle addition, and Week 1 already showed a reduced 76% snap share and five targets. He would add to an existing weekly WR logjam while costing a scarce, stable running-back role. Coker plus Brian Thomas is materially more interesting in aggregate upside, but it is still the wrong construction: my roster is full, Coker’s breakout is a one-game sample, Thomas carries shoulder and role uncertainty, and I am trying to consolidate rather than exchange one usable back for two volatile receivers. I left the door open to evaluate a different concrete structure after the Meta deal resolves. This was only a message call-in, so I made no premature lineup or roster changes before the scheduled injury-report turns.

Revising notes with details

I need to rewrite my notes while keeping all the essential information intact. It could be helpful to include Sutton’s stats and maybe some information about Coker as well. I don’t want to forget any of the important details, so I’ll make sure to use the update_notes function to capture everything. This way, I can ensure that my notes are not only accurate but also detailed for future reference.

# Briefing from the league office · react · week 2

Call-in, week 2. This is not a scheduled turn: things are waiting on you, listed under "Open items". Deal with what deserves dealing with, and leave the rest of your week alone. Lineup changes, free agents, trades and messages are all open. If nothing needs doing, say so in the memo and finish.

## Open items

What is waiting on you right now, as of this turn.
- Claude Opus 5 (Anthropic) messaged you directly (#172): "Clean back at you, and noted on all three. TEs are dead between us. Hubbard's role certainty is real — it's also exactly why I price him as an RB3/flex and n…"

## You

You are GPT-5.6 Sol (OpenAI), seat 5 of 10 (a seat number, not a draft slot; the draft order is drawn by lottery before the draft, and your first pick is overall 3). FAAB remaining: $86. Record: 0-1, 134.7 PF.

## Your notes (written by you last time)

W2 WAIVERS CLEARED: Won Kaelon Black for $13, dropping Tony Pollard; won TB D/ST for $1, dropping LAC. FAAB $86. Black is SF RB2, played 43.8%, had 14 carries/15 touches, and mixed in before pure garbage time; standalone plus major contingent upside behind 30-year-old CMC. TB is W2 stream vs CLE; reassess weekly.
TRADE/ANTHROPIC: Rejected Dallas Goedert for Chuba Hubbard (t387). Hubbard had 71% snaps, 13-5 touch edge over Brooks and high-value work; Goedert would sit behind McBride. Anthropic says movable: Judkins, Goedert, Ferguson, BTJ; Pickens/McMillan not cheap; Egbuka/Odunze tied up in Meta offers until Thursday. Replied that TEs do not fit, prefer Hubbard's role certainty to straight Judkins today, and BTJ interests only at a discount reflecting shoulder/35% W1 snaps. If Meta trade creates WR surplus Thursday, invited a specific framework. Qwen has promised first look on BTJ. Anthropic owes honest Judkins usage report Tuesday W3. Goal remains consolidation: Hubbard + depth WR only for a player who clearly improves weekly lineup, not lateral depth.
W1 USAGE: Nabers 52% ramp-up snaps, 24 routes/9 targets; excellent demand, likely expands if knee is fine. Burden 73% snaps, 27 routes, 5 targets, 5-63 plus rush/fumble; legitimate role. Watson 76%/8 targets, role supports starting though 147/2 unsustainable. Diggs 63%/9 targets, demand better than score. Concepcion 69%, 5 targets + 3 rushes; keep. Swift 57%, 18 carries, preferred goal-line back. Monangai 43%, 10 carries/2 targets but much with big lead and 61-yard run; output inflated. Hampton 58%, 12 carries/TD, no targets on 17 routes, lost fumble; led carries/goal-line but receiving use needs monitoring.
LINEUP W2: No lineup set yet. Nabers appears available and should start if practice remains clean. Core likely Purdy; Hampton/Swift; Chase plus two of Nabers/Watson/Burden/Diggs; McBride; Hubbard strong FLEX/RB candidate @ATL. Monangai behind structurally. Mevis expendable but do not churn solely off one kick. TB starts vs CLE absent material news.
TEAM POSTURE: 0-1, 134.7 PF. Core Chase/McBride/Nabers/Hampton. Preserve depth, seek consolidation rather than TE help, avoid point chasing. No roster/lineup move made on W2 call-in for Anthropic message.

## Available players (top by projection; there are more, query_stats can find them)

Columns: game is this week's opponent and kickoff in Eastern time (a player locks at that kickoff), wk_proj is projected fantasy points this week, last_wk and avg are what the player actually scored last week and per week so far this season, seas_proj the season projection, adp the average draft position (lower means drafted earlier; it is not a projection). FA marks a free agent: add_drop signs one immediately, at any turn, for nothing. waivers marks a player who can only be claimed with a FAAB bid at the next waiver run. Status column: Out, Doubtful, IR, PUP and suspensions are hard statuses. "flag" is Sleeper's questionable tag with the body part when known: a soft signal, often a minor camp issue, and there is no official NFL injury report until the practice reports of game week. "QB2 on depth chart" and the like is the team's listed depth order (1 starts). "report:" is the official NFL injury report, filed by the team: the game designation (Out, Doubtful, Questionable, or none) and the latest practice participation (DNP, limited, full).

#172 (re #170) [wk2] Claude Opus 5 (Anthropic) @anthropic → you (direct): Clean back at you, and noted on all three. TEs are dead between us. Hubbard's role certainty is real — it's also exactly why I price him as an RB3/flex and not a starting-WR: 2025 was 47% snaps and 8.7/gm, and Jonathon Brooks is sitting unowned behind him. And a BTJ discount for the shoulder plus a 35% Week 1 role is fair; I won't ask established-starter cost for him.

Framework in advance, so you can think instead of react:
- If the Sutton version of my Meta deal clears: Courtland Sutton for Chuba Hubbard, straight. 122 targets / 86% snaps in 2025 — startable for you the week you get him.
- If the Coker version clears instead: Jalen Coker + Brian Thomas for Hubbard, if you have the roster spot. That's the discounted-BTJ shape you described, with Coker carrying it.
- If Meta says no to both, I have no WR surplus and I won't pretend I do. Then it's Judkins-or-nothing, and you've already said no to that.

Meta answers on his Wednesday turn. I'll come to you either way, and you get the honest Judkins usage report Tuesday of Week 3 regardless of whether we ever trade.

    # Courtland Sutton ... Courtland Sutton DEN Wide Receiver#14 Player Stats ### Courtland Sutton caught 2-of-5 targets for 11 yards in the Broncos’ Week 1 loss to the Chiefs. The good news for Sutton’s fantasy managers is that he tied for second on the team in targets. The bad news is everything else. Sutton was locked down by the aggressive Kansas City secondary, failing to generate separation as the offense struggled to move the football. It is difficult to count on Sutton as being any higher than third on the team’s pecking order for targets following the addition of Jaylen Waddle this offsea
  • fantasypros.com2026-09-08Courtland Sutton Week 1 Outlook - Broncos at Chiefs (2026) - Derek Brown (FantasyPros)
Over the last two seasons, Courtland Sutton has been the unquestioned WR1 for Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos. In those seasons, he finished as the WR18 and WR24 in fantasy points per game. The arrival of Jaylen Waddle will change that this year. Sutton still can be a highly productive player in a pass-happy offense, but he'll take a backseat to Waddle. Sutton's per-route data remained solid, but it wasn't spectacular outside of his separation score and route win rate (20th, ninth). Last year, among 109 qualifying receivers, Sutton was 35th in target per route run rate, 32nd in yards per route r

You’re either pro-Sutton or pro-Waddle this season, and I am firmly in the latter. The Chiefs kept Sutton out of the end zone in both meetings last year, holding him to 18 targets for 99 yards across the two. That has him resting outside of my top 30 at the position, 44th among wide receivers in PFN’s Week 1 rankings. ... ## Courtland Sutton ... Can Sutton give Mansoor Delane his "Welcome to the NFL" moment? I sure hope so, and I definitely do think so. Sutton ranked 3rd in the NFL in wide receiver snaps played in 2025, so the volume will be there. Against man coverage, he averaged 17.1 yards per reception. He is generally considered a man-coverage technician. ... With the addition of Jaylen Waddle, Sutton is going to play more snaps in that prime outside role. I firmly believe that this will actually help Sutton despite falling to WR2 on the roster. Sutton is my WR27 for NFL Week 1.

to Claude Opus 5: "Appreciate the specific frameworks. Neither is pre-cleared from my side. Sutton straight won’t work: with Waddle added, 76% snaps/5 targets in Week 1 and a changed hierarchy, he looks like another weekly WR decision rather than a clear lineup upgrade over keeping scarce RB volume. Coker+BTJ is the more interesting value shape, but I’m full and don’t want to turn a stable back into two volatile WR assets when WR is already my deepest position. If your Meta deal clears, I’m happy to assess the actual post-deal roster and a different structure, but I’d pass on those two as written."
