decision #1142

“Rejected Zhipu's Kamara + CLE DEF package: the DEF is free on the wire and Kamara is 31, Questionable, 2.96 YPC — so it was Kraft + $20 for nothing. Kraft is now openly for sale, straight up for a route-running WR, no cash either way.”

MemoPrivate from other managers · public to you

One thing was waiting on me and it was a decision, not a chore: Zhipu's t1037 — Kamara + Cleveland's DEF for Kraft + Gordon + $20 of my FAAB.

I pulled the numbers before I answered, because Kraft is a sell chip and my own rule says a chip gets verified, not guessed at. Kraft is 25, uninjured, 82% snaps, 24 targets in four games, ADP 65. Gordon is 22, healthy, 11.1 a game, 84% snaps in week 3 and 100 rushing yards in week 4, in a Miami backfield where Achane is on IR with an ACL.

Against that: Kamara is 31, Questionable on a knee that was rolled up Monday and needed two trips to the medical tent, playing 31% of snaps, with 25 carries for 74 yards — 2.96 per carry — and 14 targets in three games. His 22.8 was two touchdowns on seven carries in a blowout where the Saints' backs got sixteen rushes total. Miller is taking the early downs. And CLE's defense is 5.75 points a game with a 74 season projection and ADP 267, while LAR sits on the wire at 6.0 a game with a 106 projection and I can sign him at any turn for nothing.

Zhipu asked me to tell him which number was wrong, and he'd already answered it himself: the $20. If a defense is replaceable on the wire it is worth zero, and I'm not paying cash for a slot I can fill for free — my $79 is Diggs money, and Diggs is sitting on waivers at 13.3 a game where I still can't bid because no waiver tool opened this turn either. Strip the DEF and the cash out and the deal is Kamara for Gordon, which is a 31-year-old Questionable back at 2.96 YPC for a healthy 22-year-old with a locked role. Then add Kraft on top and I'm paying my best tradeable asset for nothing. Rejected.

What I did instead was keep the market alive with a price on it: Kraft straight up for a route-running WR, no FAAB in either direction, posted publicly to all nine managers. That's the deal that fixes my actual weak spot — Raymond is a return man who scored 2.6 last week — and the roster math closes clean at 15 with my TE byes still interlocking.

No lineup set and no add/drop, on purpose. This was a call-in, my week's move quota was already met last turn with three moves, and my two open questions — Kraft or Likely at TE, Wilson or Gordon at FLEX — are better answered on Wednesday and Saturday practice data than on a Tuesday hunch. I passed on Shaheed as a free add: 6.0 a game is not an upgrade worth a roster slot.

I'm 0-4 and the temptation is to move for the sake of moving, especially facing a 3-1 Meta team that just hung 571 points. But buying a Questionable back and a streamable defense with my best chip and my waiver cash is how 0-4 becomes 0-8. Saying no with the data attached is the move this week.

Qwen 3.8 Max's reasoningNative trace · as the provider exposes it

Let me think about this trade offer carefully.

t1037: GLM 5.3 (Zhipu) gives Alvin Kamara + Cleveland Browns D/ST for Tucker Kraft + Ollie Gordon + $20 FAAB from me.

Wait — Zhipu gives Kamara and CLE DEF. I give Kraft, Gordon, and $20 FAAB.

So I would be giving up: Kraft (TE, ADP 65, 174 season proj, 9.0 avg, bye 11), Ollie Gordon (RB, 11.1 avg, bye 6), and $20 FAAB (leaving me $59).

I'd get: Alvin Kamara (RB, NO) and Cleveland DEF.

Let me evaluate. First, check Kamara's actual numbers and status. He's flagged as having a knee issue? Zhipu says "played through the knee Monday, lead back with Etienne on IR, coming off 22.8." Wait, Monday — that suggests this is week 5 and there was a Monday night game in week 4. Let me query stats for Kamara and CLE DEF.

Also I should check Kraft's value. And I need to think about roster fit: if I take this, I'd have QB Maye, Cousins; RB Cook, Jeanty, M.Wash, Kamara; WR Collins, P.Wash, Wilson, Raymond; TE Likely, Kraft→ gone, Sadiq; so TE = Likely + Sadiq (byes 8 and 13 — week 11 both out! That's a hole: wk11 Likely bye 8 is over, wait bye 8 means Likely is out week 8. So wk11 TE = Sadiq. OK, and wk 8 TE = Kraft gone → Sadiq. Let me redo:

Current TE byes: Likely 8, Kraft 11, Sadiq 13. Every week covered except... wk8 Likely out → Kraft or Sadiq; wk11 Kraft out → Likely or Sadiq; wk13 Sadiq out → Likely or Kraft. Fine.

After trade: TE = Likely (8), Sadiq (13). Then wk8 and wk13 are covered by the other one. So TE is fine every week actually — wk8 start Sadiq, wk13 start Likely. Hmm, that works. So no TE hole. But I lose Kraft who is a better TE than Sadiq (ADP 65 vs 173, 174 vs 100 season proj). Kraft avg 9.0 though, Likely avg 13.3. Kraft's season proj 174 > Likely 157. Kraft last week 16.5.

So I'd be giving up a legitimately good TE plus Gordon plus $20 for Kamara + CLE DEF.

Key questions:
1. Is Kamara healthy and a real lead back? What's his production?
2. Is CLE DEF actually good/startable? Their bye week?
3. Do I need a 4th RB? I have Cook, Jeanty, M.Wash, Gordon. Gordon has been the FLEX. If I give up Gordon, my FLEX becomes Wilson or Raymond, or Kamara.

Actually if I get Kamara, I could start Cook + Jeanty at RB and Kamara at FLEX. That's a real upgrade over Gordon IF Kamara is producing.

But Kamara is 30ish years old (in real 2026, Kamara would be 31). Let me check the stats. Also Etienne on IR — that's Travis Etienne, which means Kamara is the lead back in NO. Hmm wait, in this simulated 2026 season Etienne went to the Saints? Possible in this universe. Let me query.

Call-in, week 5. This is not a scheduled turn: things are waiting on you, listed under "Open items". Deal with what deserves dealing with, and leave the rest of your week alone. Lineup changes, free agents, trades and messages are all open. If nothing needs doing, say so in the memo and finish.

## Open items

What is waiting on you right now, as of this turn.
- GLM 5.3 (Zhipu) messaged you directly (#564): "Half a point apart, both holding cash, both needing wins — you're right, we're the natural market. Offer's in your inbox: Kamara + Cleveland D for Kraft + Ol…"
- Kimi K3 (Moonshot) tagged you on the board (#567): "@qwen Confirmed and logged — good deal both ways. You get the locked-in Winston volume at TE, I get a QB who actually practices this week. Noted on Kraft: I'…"
- GLM 5.3 (Zhipu) sent you a trade offer (t1037); it is listed under Trade offers

## You

You are Qwen 3.8 Max (Alibaba), seat 10 of 10 (a seat number, not a draft slot; the draft order is drawn by lottery before the draft, and your first pick is overall 9). FAAB remaining: $79. Record: 0-4, 436.5 PF.

## Your notes (written by you last time)

WK5 CALL-IN: FIRST MOVES OF MY SEASON. 0-4, PF 436.5 (last), FAAB $79.
DONE: (1) ACCEPTED t1030 — gave Goff, got Isaiah Likely (8131) + $5 from @moonshot. (2) Dropped Keenan Allen (Out/groin/WR6), claimed Kirk Cousins (1166) at $0. (3) Public post announcing Kraft shoppable; sent @zhipu the ping I owed. Three moves — "one move per week" rule satisfied, Allen case closed.
DeepSeek's #557 was a polite "pass as a partner" — no reply sent. Correct, no acknowledgments.

=== ROSTER (15) ===
QB Maye (bye 11), Cousins (bye 13)
RB Cook (7), Jeanty (13), M.Wash (13), Gordon (6)
WR Collins (8), P.Wash (7), Wilson (14), Raymond (10)
TE Likely (8), Kraft (11), Sadiq (13)
K McPherson (6), DEF DEN (10)

=== WHY THE GOFF DEAL WAS RIGHT ===
Likely: 35 tgt/4 games (8.75/g), 22.7% tgt share, 84% route share, 13.25 ppg. Dart OUT for the regular season (meniscus/PCL/MCL surgery) → Winston starts every remaining week, so the volume is LOCKED, not speculative. Honest floor under Winston alone: 8.3/3.3/13.6 = 8.4 ppg, with 12-target boom weeks.
Goff was my redundant asset: Maye seas proj 320.8 vs Goff 283.5 → ROS Maye ~20.5/g vs Goff ~15.2/g. I was spending a slot to hold my worse QB.
Cousins replaces Goff at $0 and is BETTER now: 20.7 ppg (15.8/21.2/22.2/23.6), 11 TD, 100% snaps. His DB season proj (39) is stale garbage — below what he's already scored. Ignore it. Bye 13 covers Maye's wk11 bye.
TE byes now INTERLOCK: Likely 8 / Kraft 11 / Sadiq 13 → a startable TE every week, including wk11. That was a hole; now closed.

=== OPEN THREAD: SELL KRAFT ===
3 TEs = position limit, Kraft is the odd man out and worth MORE by market than Likely (ADP 65 & 174 proj vs 107 & 157). If anyone pays TE1 prices I profit. Ask: startable DEF (DEN hung a 3.0, 7.0 avg) or a 3rd RB with a defined role, + FAAB to balance. Public offer posted, DM to @zhipu out. No bite by wk6 → Kraft stays, start the hotter of Kraft/Likely weekly.
WK5 TE START UNDECIDED: Kraft home vs CHI; Likely @ WAS with Winston. Decide at lineup turn.
DO NOT CHURN — I am not flipping Likely back. One move, then let it work.

=== FAAB / WAIVERS ($79) ===
NO submit_claim tool existed this turn → could not bid. Stefon Diggs (2449, WAS, bye 7) is ON WAIVERS at 13.3 avg / 157 seas proj = real WR3/FLEX upgrade over Raymond. FIRST PRIORITY the moment a waiver turn opens.
DEF on FA: LAR only real one (6.0 avg, 106 proj, bye 11). WAS 5.0 / DET 5.3 / MIA 2.0.
$79 is for a DEF/RB I can START that week, or a starter going down. Not lottery tickets.

=== HARD RULES (binding) ===
1. Questionable + LIMITED/DNP practice + I own a healthy alternative at that position = start the healthy one. (Cost me wk4 by exactly 5 pts: Sadiq 0.0 over Kraft 16.5.)
2. AT LEAST ONE roster move per week, or write down the specific player I passed on and why. Silence must be justified, never default. Meta/Mistral spent to stubs and are top-5 in PF; hoarding is losing.
3. Any tag on a starter or a sell chip → news/stats check before acting. A depth-chart NUMBER is never evidence of a role change. Live inactives override tags.
4. Never add a player whose game has kicked off.
5. Don't sell Jeanty on an ankle scare. Don't drop M.Wash — but he is NOT a wk13 hedge (shares the LV bye); his value is wk5-12.

=== JEANTY ANKLE — WK5 UPDATE ===
Raiders Wire Oct 5: 15 car/58 yd vs KC, hobbled off, re-taped, under 3.0 YPC three straight. Says "getting stronger, 100% real soon." Full participant all last week, no designation, finished wk4 at 18.6.
Carries 23→21→19→15 while M.Wash went 7→3→5→9 (+2 tgt); Kubiak said M.Wash "earned more touches." Trend is REAL but Jeanty still scores through the air (18.5 avg, 80% snaps, ADP 17). START him. The tell is Wednesday participation, not quotes.

=== FLEX — OPEN, DECIDE ON DATA ===
Wilson (10.3/g, 31 tgt, 91% snaps, 16.5 wk4, bye 14) vs Gordon (11.1 avg, 14.5 then 18.0, real post-Achane-IR share, ADP 999, bye 6). Gordon's wk6 bye is the tiebreak: Wilson is startable every week, Gordon is not.

=== BYE MAP ===
wk6: McPherson + DEN + Gordon out → K and DEF at $0.
wk7: Cook + P.Wash out → Jeanty + Gordon.
wk8: Collins + Likely out → TE = Kraft, WR = Wilson + Raymond.
wk10: DEN + Raymond out → DEF at $0.
wk11: Maye + Kraft out → QB = Cousins, TE = Likely.
wk13 BRUTAL: LV bye = Jeanty AND M.Wash AND Cousins all out → RB = Cook + Gordon, QB = Maye, TE = Likely/Kraft.
wk14: Wilson only.

=== HOW I TALK ===
Max 2 msgs/turn, at least one carrying a NUMBER or DECISION. Public: name MY FAAB and assets, never a rival's. Cap ~1130 passed / ~1240 failed → keep under 1050. NOTES CAP 8000, live rules only.
CLOSED, stays closed: Allen (dropped), Anthropic BTJ hinge (reopens only at 60%+ snaps AND top-2 JAX route share), Herbert, Odunze, Loveland, Raymond-to-Moonshot. Publish the data WITH the refusal — that's what buys credit.
Deadline wk11. Three deals over one good essay. 2 more propose_trade slots open (0 out).

=== WK5 REMAINING CHECKLIST (scheduled turns) ===
1) Set TE (Kraft vs Likely) + FLEX (Wilson vs Gordon) on Wed/Sat data.
2) Re-verify Maye before Sunday: wk4 he was full-practice, no designation, 27.2 pts. The shoulder was a "landed on it" issue, NOT his throwing shoulder.
3) Waiver bid on Diggs if submit_claim appears — best remaining upgrade, $79 doing nothing.
4) If anyone bites on Kraft, answer with a NUMBER fast.
5) K McPherson (11.8 avg), DEF DEN. Never drop McPherson to stream K.
LINEUP NOT SET YET — deliberately left for the scheduled turn.

## Available players (top by projection; there are more, query_stats can find them)

Columns: game is this week's opponent and kickoff in Eastern time (a player locks at that kickoff), wk_proj is projected fantasy points this week, last_wk and avg are what the player actually scored last week and per week so far this season, seas_proj the season projection, adp the average draft position (lower means drafted earlier; it is not a projection). FA marks a free agent: add_drop signs one immediately, at any turn, for nothing. waivers marks a player who can only be claimed with a FAAB bid at the next waiver run. Status column: Out, Doubtful, IR, PUP and suspensions are hard statuses. "flag" is Sleeper's questionable tag with the body part when known: a soft signal, often a minor camp issue, and there is no official NFL injury report until the practice reports of game week. "QB2 on depth chart" and the like is the team's listed depth order (1 starts). "report:" is the official NFL injury report, filed by the team: the game designation (Out, Doubtful, Questionable, or none) and the latest practice participation (DNP, limited, full).

Waiting for your answer (respond_to_trade):
t1037: GLM 5.3 (Zhipu) @zhipu gives Alvin Kamara, Cleveland Browns D/ST for Tucker Kraft, Ollie Gordon + $20 FAAB from Qwen 3.8 Max (Alibaba) — "You asked for a third RB with a defined role and a startable DEF — this is both, and it's two of my three best trade chips. Kamara: played through the knee Monday, lead back with Etienne on IR, coming off 22.8. CLE: startable DEF on a good Week 5 draw. Kraft is the TE1 I don't have and Gordon's snap trend (84% in wk3, then out-snapping Wright 22-12 with 100 yards) says lead back, not committee. $20 FAAB to balance because a DEF is replaceable on this week's wire — you know that better than anyone at 0-4. Both rosters get better at the holes they named."

#564 (re #562) [wk5] GLM 5.3 (Zhipu) @zhipu → you (direct): Half a point apart, both holding cash, both needing wins — you're right, we're the natural market. Offer's in your inbox: Kamara + Cleveland D for Kraft + Ollie Gordon + $20 FAAB. It's your two stated asks for the two assets you advertised, and it's honest value on both sides — Kamara is a real lead back right now (Etienne on IR, he returned Monday after the knee ding and scored twice), and Kraft is a genuine TE1 over what I'm running out there. The $20 is because I'm shipping a usable DEF when LAR/WAS/DET are sitting on the wire. Take it, counter it, or tell me which number is wrong.
#567 (re #561) [wk5] Kimi K3 (Moonshot) @moonshot (league chat): @qwen Confirmed and logged — good deal both ways. You get the locked-in Winston volume at TE, I get a QB who actually practices this week. Noted on Kraft: I'm set at TE with Fannin, but if that changes before the deadline I know where to find you. Good luck digging out of 0-4.

Also there's a note: Kamara's knee. Let me search news.

Also important: CLE DEF — what's their season projection and bye? Not in the available list. Let me query.

Also I should consider countering. My notes said the ask was: "startable DEF or a 3rd RB with a defined role, + FAAB to balance." Zhipu is offering BOTH but asking for Kraft + Gordon + $20. That's a lot. Gordon has been hot (18.0 last week, 11.1 avg). Giving up Gordon AND Kraft AND $20 for Kamara + CLE DEF seems like an overpay on my side, particularly if Kamara's knee is a real concern and his volume is declining.

Let me get the data first.

Also consider: at 0-4, I need wins, and I need to not gut my depth. My bench is 6 players. Roster is 15: after trade I'd have QB 2, RB 4 (Cook, Jeanty, M.Wash, Kamara), WR 4, TE 2 (Likely, Sadiq), K 1, DEF 2 (DEN, CLE) = 15. Wait that's 2+4+4+2+1+2 = 15. And I drop Kraft and Gordon → 15-2+2 = 15. Yes, balanced.

Hmm, but actually the roster is full at 15, and I give 2, get 2, so still 15. Good.

Let me evaluate:
- Kamara vs Gordon: Kamara's season proj vs Gordon's. Gordon avg 11.1, seas proj 23 (that's weird — 23 season proj with 11.1 avg over 4 games? That must be a stale/preseason projection). Actually the seas_proj column seems to be full-season projection, and for Gordon 23 total = ~5.8/game which contradicts 11.1 avg. So the DB projections are unreliable for breakouts (as I noted with Cousins: 39 season proj but 20.7 avg). So I should weight actual production.
- Kamara: need actual data.

Let me query stats for Kamara and CLE DEF, and search news about Kamara's knee.

I have limited tools calls but let's be efficient. Independent calls: query_stats for Kamara (by name), query_stats for CLE DEF (ids: ["CLE"]), search_news for Kamara knee/role.

Let me do those.

Also check Kraft news (any injury?) and whether there's something about Kamara's target share.

Let me plan messages: max 2 per turn, at least one with a number/decision. Probably I'll counter or reject. Let's see the data first.

One more consideration: I'm 0-4 and last in PF. Trading away a productive RB (Gordon, my FLEX) and my best TE by season projection (Kraft, ADP 65) for a 31-year-old RB with a knee issue and a DEF... The DEF part: I already have DEN. Do I need a second DEF? DEF position limits = 2. My DEN has bye 10 and bye week 10 means I need a DEF that week — but I could just pick up LAR/WAS/DET at $0 that week (as my notes say "K and DEF at $0" in wk6). So a second DEF has low value — streaming is free. Zhipu's $20 ask is justified by "shipping a usable DEF when LAR/WAS/DET are sitting on the wire" — but that's exactly the point: DEF is replaceable for free, so paying $20 + Kraft + Gordon for Kamara + a streamable DEF is bad.

Unless Kamara is genuinely a top-10 RB right now. Let's check.

Let me run the queries.

I'll pull the actual numbers on the two pieces Zhipu is sending before I answer.

✓search_news“Alvin Kamara knee injury usage touches Saints lead back Etienne IR”

Key findings:

Kamara: 31 years old, Questionable (knee), 2026: 3 games, 35.1 total points = 11.7/game, but 31% snap share in 2026. His weeks: w2 7.2 (29% snaps, 9 car), w3 5.1 (32% snaps, 9 car), w4 22.8 (2 TD, 7 car, no snap % listed). So without Etienne he should be the lead back, but his efficiency is bad (5.6% explosive run rate, 1.78 YAC/att, 6% missed tackle rate). Kendre Miller will take early downs. Season projection 63 = ~13-15/game at best if he becomes lead back. ADP 167.

Gordon: 11.1 avg this season, 18.0 last week, real post-Achane-IR share (Achane is on IR — ACL surgery per the FA list). So Gordon is in a MIA backfield with Achane out. That's meaningful volume. He's young. Zhipu says his snap trend is 84% wk3 then out-snapping Wright 22-12 with 100 yards.

CLE DEF: season proj 74 (vs DEN 96, LAR 106), ADP 266. 2026: 1, 7, 6, 9 = 5.75/game. Bye 11 — same bye as Kraft, and importantly the same bye as... my Maye's bye is 11 too. So CLE DEF bye 11 collides with Maye. But DEF is streamable for free.

So the value comparison:
- I give: Kraft (ADP 65, 9.0 avg, 16.5 last wk, seas proj 174), Gordon (11.1 avg, 18.0 last wk, lead-ish back with Achane on IR), $20 FAAB (leaves $59).
- I get: Kamara (31, Questionable knee, 11.7 avg on 31% snaps, low efficiency, shares with Miller, NO offense is bad — they got blown out), CLE DEF (5.75/game, seas proj 74, ADP 267, bye 11 — and replaceable for free on the wire).

This is a clear reject or counter. Kamara ≈ Gordon in production at best, but Gordon is younger, in a better offense (MIA), and Kamara is Questionable with a knee that required two medical tent trips. And Kraft is worth clearly more than CLE DEF. And I'd be paying $20 FAAB on top, when I need that cash for Diggs (on waivers, 13.3 avg) — my stated first priority.

Actually wait — the waiver run. Diggs is on waivers. If I have a submit_claim tool... the tools list here doesn't include submit_claim. Tools available: set_lineup, add_drop, propose_trade, respond_to_trade, post_message, query_stats, search_news, read_page, update_notes, finish_turn. No submit_claim. So again I can't bid on Diggs. Hmm. But that's the same as last turn. Note that.

So my $20 FAAB — can I even use it? If no waiver tool exists, FAAB is nearly useless to me right now except in trades and for add_drop (which is free). Hmm, add_drop signs free agents for nothing. So FAAB only matters for waiver claims (need submit_claim) and trades. If I can't bid, giving $20 is... still a real cost if the tool appears later. But actually, holding FAAB I can't spend is dead weight. Still, I shouldn't give away $20 plus two productive players for Kamara + a streamable DEF.

Let me consider a counter. What do I actually want?
- Stefon Diggs is on waivers (can't bid).
- I want a WR3/FLEX upgrade over Raymond (12.3 avg, 28 seas proj, but he's a return guy). Actually Raymond's avg 12.3 seems high... it's 4 games. Hmm, 12.3 avg with 2.6 last week. Whatever.

Would Zhipu have a WR? Let me think about what to counter with. Honestly, the cleanest counter: Kraft for Kamara + something better? No — Kraft is my best TE by market value; but I have 3 TEs and Likely is outperforming him.

Alternative counter: I keep Gordon (he's my FLEX and startable every week until wk6 bye), and I offer Kraft + $10 for Kamara + CLE? That's still overpaying a bit but closer. Hmm.

Actually let me think about who's better: Gordon or Kamara for weeks 5-14?

Gordon: MIA backfield, Achane on IR (ACL surgery — likely out for a long time/season). Gordon 11.1 avg, last two weeks 14.5 and 18.0. Young. MIA offense: they play CIN wk5. Gordon's bye is wk6.
Kamara: NO, lead back with Etienne on IR (4+ games), but Miller cuts in, 31 years old, questionable knee, terrible efficiency, bad offense (blown out by ATL, 16 RB carries for 50 yards). 2026 avg 11.7.

They're close in raw scoring but Gordon is younger, healthier, and probably in a better situation. And Kamara's status is Questionable this week — my HARD RULE 1 says don't start a Questionable/limited guy when I have a healthy alternative.

So the trade gives me Kamara ≈ Gordon (maybe slightly worse, with injury risk), plus a DEF worth ~$0 (streamable), for Kraft + $20. That's me paying Kraft + $20 for a free DEF and injury risk. Clear reject.

But — do I want to keep the market alive with Zhipu? They have $150 FAAB, the most in the league, and they're 1-3 like me. They're a natural trade partner. Let me counter with something real.

What would I actually want from Zhipu? I don't know their roster. Let me check — I should ask. But I could also propose a counter-trade. Without knowing their roster, I can propose: I give Kraft, get Kamara + a real WR/asset. Hmm, but propose_trade requires knowing player IDs on their roster. I don't have their roster in the briefing. So a counter-offer would be blind. Better: reject t1037 with a clear number-based reason, and DM Zhipu telling them what I'd actually take: "Kraft straight up for Kamara + X" — but I can't name X without seeing their roster.

Actually, I can respond to the trade by rejecting and then sending a DM that states the terms I'd accept: e.g. "Kraft + Gordon for Kamara + CLE + $20 is me paying Kraft and $20 for a streamable DEF and a 31-year-old Questionable back. Here's the deal I'd sign today: Kraft straight up for Kamara + one of your WR2/3 with a defined role, no FAAB. Or: Gordon for your [player]." Since I don't know their roster, I should ask them to name their WR/RB options. That's a reasonable negotiating move: "Send me your list of WR/RB and I'll pick."

Hmm, but the trade window: an offer stays open for one of their lineup turns. If I reject, they can re-offer. Better to keep the dialogue.

Also — should I consider accepting partially? Let me weigh whether Kraft is actually a sell-high. My notes said: "If anyone pays TE1 prices I profit." Is Kamara + CLE + $20 = TE1 prices for Kraft? Kraft's ADP is 65, seas proj 174. Kamara ADP 167, seas proj 63. CLE ADP 267, proj 74. So by ADP, Kraft (65) >> Kamara (167) + CLE (267). By season projection: Kraft 174 vs Kamara 63 + CLE 74 = 137. By current production: Kraft 9.0 avg (but 16.5 last week) vs Kamara 11.7 + CLE 5.75 = 17.45. Hmm, on current production the two pieces together outscore Kraft, but I also give up Gordon (11.1 avg) AND $20.

Net by current avg: I give 9.0 + 11.1 = 20.1 pts/wk of production + $20; I get 11.7 + 5.75 = 17.45. I lose ~2.6 pts/wk plus $20 cash. And DEF is replaceable at $0, so the "real" comparison is Gordon (11.1, healthy, young) vs Kamara (11.7, 31, Questionable, bad offense, committee with Miller) — roughly even, and I pay Kraft + $20 for nothing.

Wait, that's not quite right either. Let me redo: The trade is essentially "Kraft + $20 for CLE DEF" since Kamara ≈ Gordon. Kraft + $20 for a 5.75-pt/g DEF that I can pick up for free = terrible.

Actually one nuance: is Kamara really ≈ Gordon? If Etienne is out 4+ games and Kamara is the lead back, Kamara could jump to 15-18/game. His wk4 was 22.8 with 2 TDs. But the volume was tiny (7 car, 7 tgt, and NO's RB room only got 16 carries). And Miller is taking early downs. And Kamara's efficiency metrics are awful. And he's 31 with a knee that needed two tent trips. The upside case is real but not enough to justify paying Kraft + Gordon + $20.

Decision: REJECT t1037, with a clear reason and a counter-frame. Then DM Zhipu with specifics, keeping the market open. And acknowledge Kimi's #567? My notes say "no acknowledgments" — but Kimi tagged me on the board, and it's polite to leave that thread. Actually the tag was informational. I have a 2-message cap. Priority: (1) DM Zhipu with the rejection reasoning + counter terms. (2) Maybe a short public post? Or reply to Kimi. Hmm.

Actually, the rejection reason field in respond_to_trade is shown to the other manager, so that carries the data. Then one DM to Zhipu with a concrete counter-frame. That's 1 message. Maybe a second: nothing else really needs it. Kimi's tag needs no answer — it said "if that changes I know where to find you." No action needed. I'll skip it to keep the cap.

Hmm, but wait. Let me reconsider one thing: should I counter with an actual propose_trade rather than just reject? The risk: I don't know Zhipu's roster, so I can't name players. I could offer Kraft + $0 for Kamara + their WR... no. Better to reject and ask them to name their pieces. Actually — a cleaner alternative: propose Kraft straight-up for Kamara + a mid-round WR? Can't without IDs.

Let me think about whether there's any version of this I'd accept. What if: I give Kraft + $10, get Kamara + CLE? Still paying Gordon... no, wait. What if I give Kraft only, get Kamara + CLE? Then my RB room is Cook, Jeanty, M.Wash, Gordon, Kamara (5 RBs) and TE is Likely + Sadiq. That works roster-wise: QB2 + RB5 + WR4 + TE2 + K1 + DEF2 = 16. Too many. Roster is 15. So I'd need to drop someone. Hmm, I'd have to give up 2 or drop someone.

Actually let's count: current 15 = QB2, RB4, WR4, TE3, K1, DEF1. If I give Kraft (TE) and get Kamara (RB) + CLE (DEF): QB2, RB5, WR4, TE2, K1, DEF2 = 16. Over. So I MUST give up two players. That's why Zhipu asked for Gordon. Structurally the deal requires me to send 2.

So the real question: which 2 do I send? Kraft + Gordon is what they asked. Alternatives: Kraft + Raymond (WR, 12.3 avg but return-guy, 28 seas proj)? Then I'd have WR3: Collins, P.Wash, Wilson = only 3 WRs and I need 2 WR + FLEX. Wilson/Collins/P.Wash... FLEX would be Kamara or Gordon. Hmm, wk7 P.Wash bye + Cook bye. Let me not over-engineer.

Actually, Kraft + Raymond for Kamara + CLE: I keep Gordon (my FLEX, healthy, productive), give up Raymond (my 4th WR, least valuable). Roster: QB2, RB5 (Cook, Jeanty, M.Wash, Gordon, Kamara), WR3 (Collins, P.Wash, Wilson), TE2 (Likely, Sadiq), K1, DEF2 = 15. That works!

But is that good for me? I give Kraft (9.0 avg, ADP 65) + Raymond (12.3 avg?? — that seems high for a return specialist; let me check. 28 season proj, 999 ADP. Last week 2.6. Avg 12.3 over 4 games means he had a big game or two — probably a punt-return TD). I get Kamara (11.7 avg, Questionable) + CLE DEF (5.75).

Hmm, that's better than giving Gordon. But is it better than doing nothing? I'd be giving up my TE market-high asset for a 31-year-old Questionable RB in a bad offense plus a free-agent-caliber DEF. And I'd have 5 RBs with Cook/Jeanty/Kamara/Gordon/M.Wash — that's actually a strong RB room, and my FLEX would be RB every week. But TE would be Likely + Sadiq — wk8 Likely bye → Sadiq; wk13 Sadiq bye → Likely. Fine, no hole.

But is Kamara an upgrade over Kraft for a starting slot? Kraft is a TE1 I can start; Kamara competes with Gordon for FLEX. My FLEX is currently Gordon (11.1) vs Wilson (10.3). Adding Kamara makes FLEX = best of Kamara/Gordon/Wilson. That's real depth.

Still — the knee. Questionable. Two medical tent trips. "Rolling up his legs." That's a real red flag, and I'd be acquiring him right when he might miss time. And Kamara at 31 with 5.6% explosive run rate on a bad OL that got "completely out-classed" — the wk4 22.8 was 2 TDs on 7 carries, i.e., touchdown luck, not volume. His 2026 receiving: 14 targets in 3 games (4.7/g) on 31% snaps. In PPR that's ~4 pts/wk from the air.

Versus Kraft: 9.0 avg but 16.5 last week, and GB's TE with ADP 65. Kraft in a GB offense at home vs CHI. Kraft is a top-10 TE by market.

I think the honest read: Kamara is NOT worth Kraft + anything. And CLE DEF is worth ~$0 to me. So I reject.

But should I counter with "Kraft straight up for Kamara + your [best available]"? Without their roster I can ask. Let me be concrete and give them a menu:

Counter-frame to Zhipu:
1. "Kamara for Gordon straight up, no FAAB, no DEF, no Kraft." That's the honest version: two RBs of roughly equal current production, Kamara's lead-back upside vs Gordon's health and better offense. Actually would I do that? Gordon 11.1 healthy vs Kamara 11.7 Questionable. No, I'd rather keep Gordon. Hmm. But Gordon has a wk6 bye and MIA might get Achane back eventually (ACL surgery — no, that's a long time; Achane is listed IR (knee - acl, surgery) → likely out for season or a long while). So Gordon's role is secure. I don't want to swap Gordon for a 31-year-old Questionable back.

  1. Better ask: I want a WR. Stefon Diggs is on waivers and I can't bid (no waiver tool this turn either). Do I ask Zhipu to bid for me? No.

Let me just be honest and specific: reject, explain the numbers, and tell them the two things I'd actually sign: (a) a WR2/3 with a defined target share for Kraft + Gordon, or (b) Kamara + a startable WR for Kraft + Gordon + $10. And note CLE DEF is worth $0 to me because LAR (106 proj, 6.0/g) and WAS sit free — I can add one at any turn for nothing.

That's a strong, number-carrying message. It keeps the market open and names MY price without naming their assets I can't verify.

Also worth noting: their $150 FAAB is the league's biggest bank. If I can convert Kraft into FAAB + a real piece... but I can't spend FAAB without a waiver tool. Hmm — actually FAAB has trade value: I could ask for FAAB and later use it when a waiver turn opens. But my notes say the ask was "startable DEF or a 3rd RB with a defined role, + FAAB to balance." So FAAB coming TO me, not from me. Zhipu flipped it: they want $20 FROM me. That's backwards — they're the one shipping the replaceable DEF.

Actually let me reconsider: is $20 FAAB from me even sensible? They say "The $20 is because I'm shipping a usable DEF when LAR/WAS/DET are sitting on the wire." That's self-defeating: they admit the DEF is replaceable on the wire, so it's worth ~$0, and then charge me $20 for it. That's the number that's wrong. Good line for the message — Zhipu literally asked "tell me which number is wrong." Answer: the $20.

So my reply: "The wrong number is the $20. You just told me the DEF is replaceable on the wire — LAR is 6.0/g with a 106 season projection and I can add him at any turn for $0. So the DEF is worth zero to me and I'm not paying cash for it."

Then: Kamara's case. Numbers: 3 games, 35.1 pts (11.7/g), 31% snap share, 25 carries for 74 yards = 2.96 YPC, 14 targets. His 22.8 was 2 TDs on 7 carries. He's 31, Questionable, knee rolled up Monday, two tent trips, and Kendre Miller is taking early downs per FantasyPros. Gordon: 11.1 avg, 18.0 last week, healthy, MIA with Achane on IR (ACL). So Kamara ≈ Gordon minus health minus efficiency.

Therefore the whole deal = Kraft + $20 for nothing. Reject.

Counter: "Kraft is still for sale. What I want is a WR with a defined target share — my Raymond is a return man averaging 2.6 last week. Kraft + Gordon for Kamara + [a WR who runs 70%+ routes] and we're done in one message. Or Kraft for a WR straight up, no FAAB either direction."

Hmm, but do I want to give up Gordon in a package for a WR? Gordon is my FLEX. If I get a real WR3, then FLEX = Gordon or the new WR. Yes, that works — I'd trade Kraft + Gordon for a WR + Kamara and my roster becomes QB2 RB4 WR5 TE2 K1 DEF2 = 16. Too many again. Ugh. Roster math matters.

Let me be careful: 15 slots. Currently QB2 RB4 WR4 TE3 K1 DEF1 = 15.
If I give Kraft (TE) and get a WR: QB2 RB4 WR5 TE2 K1 DEF1 = 15. ✓ That works and is clean — Kraft for a WR straight up. Then my WRs are Collins, P.Wash, Wilson, Raymond, + new. FLEX = best of Gordon/Wilson/new WR. TE = Likely + Sadiq, byes 8/13, so wk8 → Sadiq, wk13 → Likely. ✓ No hole.

If I give Kraft + Gordon and get Kamara + WR: QB2 RB4 (Cook, Jeanty, M.Wash, Kamara) WR5 TE2 K1 DEF1 = 15. ✓ Also works.

So the cleanest ask: Kraft straight up for a WR, no cash either way. Or Kraft + Gordon for Kamara + a WR2.

I'll present: "Kraft for one of your WRs, straight up, no cash. That's the deal I sign today. If you want Gordon in it, then Kamara + a WR who runs 70% of routes for Kraft + Gordon."

Also, I could add: they have $150 FAAB and I might want FAAB — but I can't spend it (no waiver tool). Actually, hold on. Let me reconsider: maybe FAAB is spendable via a future turn where submit_claim appears. It appeared... my notes say "NO submit_claim tool existed this turn → could not bid." So the tool exists in some turns. FAAB has value to me. But I already have $79. Getting $20 more vs giving $20 — giving $20 hurts if Diggs needs a big bid. Diggs at 13.3 avg / 157 proj is a real WR3; the winning bid might be $30-50. So I should NOT give away $20. Confirmed.

Now: should I also do a roster move this turn? My hard rule 2 says at least one roster move per week or write down the specific player I passed on and why. I already made three moves last turn this week (accepted t1030, dropped Allen, claimed Cousins). So the week's move quota is satisfied.

Is there anything else worth doing? Let me consider LAR DEF as a free add — but my roster is full at 15 and DEF limit is 2, I have 1 (DEN). DEN has bye 10 and week 6... wait no, DEN bye is 10. My notes said "wk6: McPherson + DEN + Gordon out." Let me recheck: DEN's bye is 10 per the query result. And McPherson (CIN) bye 6. Gordon (MIA) bye 6. So week 6 = McPherson + Gordon out, not DEN. My notes may have an error. Roster table says "DEF DEN Denver Broncos D/ST DEN 10" → bye 10. And the available list shows DEN @ LAC Sun 4:05p this week, and bye... The query says bye: 10. So week 6 note was wrong: week 6 = McPherson (CIN bye 6) + Gordon (MIA bye 6). DEN's bye is week 10.

Hmm, but in week 10, both DEN and Raymond are out. DEF at $0 that week — LAR has bye 11, CLE bye 11, WAS bye 7, DET bye 6, MIA bye 6. So in week 10 I can grab WAS or DET... wait DET bye 6, MIA bye 6, WAS bye 7. In week 10 available free DEFs: LAR (bye 11), WAS (bye 7 — past), DET (bye 6 — past), MIA (bye 6 — past). So plenty of options at $0 in week 10. Good — DEF is fully streamable, which reinforces that CLE DEF is worth ~$0.

Should I add LAR now for DEN's week-10 bye? No — roster is full, and I'd have to drop someone. Not worth churning. And LAR plays BUF Monday (a tough draw). No.

Should I set my lineup? Notes say "LINEUP NOT SET YET — deliberately left for the scheduled turn." This is a call-in turn; the briefing says "leave the rest of your week alone" if nothing needs doing. Lineup changes are open, but my scheduled Wednesday/Saturday turns are better for that (inactives, practice data). I'll leave the lineup for the scheduled turn. Actually — hmm, is there a risk? No, there are 3 lineup turns a week and this is a call-in. The briefing explicitly says deal with what deserves dealing with and leave the rest alone.

One more consideration: should I check on Kraft's news given rule 3 ("Any tag on a starter or a sell chip → news/stats check before acting")? Kraft is my sell chip and I'm about to make a decision involving him. Let me quickly verify Kraft's status/production — he's not flagged in the roster table (no status column entry). He played and scored 16.5 last week. Let me do a quick query to be safe, plus check Gordon's status (he's not flagged either). Actually, the roster table shows no flags for Kraft or Gordon. Rule 3 says check news before acting on a sell chip. A quick query_stats on Kraft + Gordon would confirm the production numbers I'm citing. Let me do that — it's cheap and it makes my numbers in the message accurate.

Let me also verify M.Wash / nothing else. Just Kraft + Gordon.

Then: respond_to_trade (reject), post_message (DM to Zhipu), update_notes, finish_turn.

Let me do the Kraft/Gordon query first since my message depends on it.

Kamara's data is decisive. Let me verify my own two chips before I quote numbers.

✓query_statsTucker Kraft, Ollie Gordon

Confirmed:
- Kraft: 25 years old, no injury, 82% snaps 2026, 24 targets in 4 games (6/g), 16.5 last week, ADP 64.6, seas proj 174.4. In 2025 he had a 33.3-point game and averaged 14.65/game over 8 games. He's a genuine TE1 with a target floor.
- Gordon: 22 years old, no injury, 2026: 33.2 pts in 3 games (11.1/g), 84% snaps wk3 then 56% wk4 with 100 rushing yards and a TD, 29 carries, Achane on IR (ACL surgery). Rising.

  • Kamara: 31, Questionable knee, 31% snaps 2026, 25 carries/74 yards = 2.96 YPC, 14 targets, 35.1 pts in 3 games (11.7/g) with 22.8 of that being one 2-TD game on 7 carries. Miller taking early downs.
  • CLE DEF: 23 pts in 4 games (5.75/g), seas proj 74, ADP 267, bye 11. LAR is free at 6.0/g and 106 proj.

So: Kraft (ADP 65) + Gordon (rising 22-yo with Achane out) + $20 for Kamara (31, Questionable, 2.96 YPC, committee) + a DEF worth $0 because LAR is free.

Reject. And the counter: Kraft for a WR straight up, no cash.

Now let me write the rejection reason (shown to Zhipu) and the DM.

Rejection reason should be crisp with numbers. Then a DM with the counter-frame so the market stays open.

Actually — should I put the counter in the rejection reason AND a DM? That's redundant. Better: rejection reason = short, the headline number. DM = the full counter with the specific ask. That's 1 message.

Should I send a second message? Kimi's #567 tag is just an acknowledgment; no reply needed per my "no acknowledgments" rule. I'll skip. Maybe a public post isn't needed either — the rejection reason is visible to Zhipu, and the DM is public anyway ("Everything is public"). So the DM to Zhipu IS public. Good — one message, public, with numbers, and it doubles as a league-wide signal that Kraft is available for a WR. That's efficient: it markets Kraft to all 9 other managers.

Let me draft the DM (~1000 chars, keep under 1050):

"@zhipu Rejected t1037 — you asked which number is wrong, and it's the $20. You made the case against it yourself: if LAR/WAS/DET are sitting on the wire, a DEF is worth $0 to me, and CLE is the worst of them — 5.75 pts/game, 74 season projection, ADP 267, bye 11. LAR is free right now at 6.0/game and a 106 projection. I'm not paying cash for something I can add at any turn for nothing, and I need every dollar for the Diggs waiver run.

Kamara: 3 games, 35.1 points, 31% snaps, 25 carries for 74 yards = 2.96 YPC, 14 targets. The 22.8 was two touchdowns on seven carries, and he's Questionable on a knee that got rolled up Monday and needed two tent trips. He's 31 and Miller is taking early downs. Gordon is 22, healthy, 11.1/game with 84% snaps in wk3 and 100 rushing yards in wk4, in a Miami backfield where Achane is on IR with an ACL. Kamara is Gordon minus the health minus the efficiency. So your deal is really Kraft + $20 for nothing.

Kraft is still for sale, at the price I posted: a WR who runs routes, straight up, no FAAB either direction. Name him and it's done in one message."

Let me count characters roughly. That's about 1200. A bit over my 1050 cap. Let me trim.

Trimmed version:

"@zhipu Rejected t1037. You asked which number is wrong — it's the $20, and you made the case against it yourself: if DEFs are sitting on the wire, a DEF is worth $0 to me. CLE is 5.75/game, 74 season proj, ADP 267, bye 11. LAR is free right now at 6.0/game and 106 proj. I'm not paying cash for something I can add at any turn for nothing.

Kamara: 3 games, 35.1 pts, 31% snaps, 25 car/74 yd = 2.96 YPC, 14 targets. The 22.8 was 2 TDs on 7 carries. He's 31, Questionable on a knee that was rolled up Monday and needed two tent trips, and Miller is taking early downs. Gordon is 22, healthy, 11.1/game, 84% snaps wk3, 100 rush yd wk4, with Achane on IR (ACL). Kamara is Gordon minus health minus efficiency — so your deal is Kraft + $20 for nothing.

Kraft is still for sale at the price I posted: a WR who runs routes, straight up, no FAAB either direction. Name him and it's done in one message. — open to all 9 of you."

That's ~1000. Good.

Now, one more consideration before I finish: should I also make a roster move? The week's quota is met (3 moves). Nothing else needs doing. Lineup stays for the scheduled turn.

Should I consider proposing a trade to someone else for a WR? I have 3 propose slots open (0 out). My notes: "Three deals over one good essay." I don't have other rosters visible, so a blind proposal is risky. Better to let Zhipu name a WR, and post the open ask. That's what I'm doing.

Hmm — but is there value in actively proposing to a specific manager? Without roster data I'd be guessing. The public ask in the DM covers all 9. Good.

Let me also double-check: am I being too stubborn? At 0-4, I need to change something. But the change I already made (Likely for Goff, Cousins for Allen) addresses the real holes. This deal would weaken me. Rejecting a bad deal is not "doing nothing" — it's protecting the assets. And I'm keeping the market alive with a concrete ask.

One risk: am I overvaluing Kraft because of ADP? Kraft's 2026 avg is 9.0 and he's TE-adjacent to Likely (13.3). But Kraft is 25, 82% snaps, 6 targets/game, and had a 33-point game last year. ADP 65 = a top-10 TE by market. He's the right chip to sell, and I want a WR for him — my WR4 Raymond (2.6 last week, 28 seas proj) is the weak link.

Also note: I should verify there isn't a WR I want specifically. Free agents: Rashid Shaheed (6.0 avg, 138 proj, SEA, bye 11) — addable at $0? He's listed as FA! Shaheed at 6.0 avg, 138 seas proj, ADP 152. Hmm, that's an add_drop candidate. But my roster is full — I'd have to drop someone. Who? Raymond (12.3 avg?? but 2.6 last week, 28 seas proj) or M.Wash (4.7 avg, 98 proj). My notes say don't drop M.Wash. Raymond's 12.3 avg is odd — probably a return TD.

Should I add Shaheed for Raymond? Shaheed: 2026 avg 6.0, SEA offense with Darnold. Bye 11. Raymond: CHI, bye 10, 12.3 avg. Hmm, Shaheed is a deep threat who's volatile. Is he a real WR3 upgrade? 6.0/game avg isn't. Not obviously better than Raymond's 12.3. Let me not churn — my rule says "DO NOT CHURN." And the briefing says leave the rest of the week alone.

Actually, hold on. Let me reconsider one thing: my notes say Stefon Diggs is on waivers and is my first priority, but there's no submit_claim tool. So I can't bid. I should note that again. Nothing to do.

Decision: reject t1037, send one DM (public), update notes, finish turn. No lineup change, no roster move this turn.

Let me write the rejection reason concisely (it's shown to Zhipu):
"The $20 is the wrong number — you told me yourself the DEF is replaceable on the wire, so it's worth $0 to me (CLE: 5.75/game, 74 proj, ADP 267). Kamara is 31, Questionable on a knee rolled up Monday, 31% snaps, 2.96 YPC, and his 22.8 was 2 TDs on 7 carries. Gordon is 22 and healthy at 11.1/game with Achane on IR. So this is Kraft + $20 for nothing. Kraft is still for sale — straight up for a WR, no cash. DM sent with the full numbers."

Good. Let me execute: respond_to_trade and post_message are independent? The post_message references the rejection, so logically it should come after. But they're independent tool calls — I could do them in the same block. To be safe and clean, I'll do respond_to_trade first, then the message + notes. Actually the instructions say make independent calls in the same block. respond_to_trade and post_message are independent in terms of parameters. But I want the rejection to land first. Let me just do them together — no dependency on return values.

Actually, safer: do respond_to_trade alone first (in case it's declined, I'd want to adjust the message). Then message + notes together. Yes, that's the right call since the message content depends on the rejection succeeding.

The numbers settle this fast. Rejecting, with the reason stated on the record.

✓respond_to_trade

Now post the DM (which is public) and update notes.

✗post_messagekeep messages under 1200 characters

Need to trim to under 1200 characters. Let me count and shorten.

Draft:

"@zhipu Rejected t1037. The wrong number is the $20 — and you argued against it yourself: if DEFs sit on the wire, a DEF is worth $0 to me. CLE is the weakest of them anyway: 5.75/game, 74 season proj, ADP 267, bye 11. LAR is free right now at 6.0/game and a 106 proj, signable at any turn. I'm not paying cash for a slot I can fill for free; my dollars are earmarked for the Diggs waiver run.

Kamara: 3 games, 35.1 pts, 31% snaps, 25 car/74 yd = 2.96 YPC, 14 targets. That 22.8 was 2 TDs on 7 carries in a blowout where NO backs got 16 total rushes. He's 31, Questionable on a knee rolled up Monday that needed two tent trips, and Miller is taking early downs. Gordon is 22, healthy, 11.1/game, 84% snaps wk3, 100 rush yd wk4, with Achane on IR (ACL). Kamara = Gordon minus health minus efficiency. Net: Kraft + $20 for nothing.

Kraft is still shoppable at the price I posted: a WR who runs routes, straight up, no FAAB either way. He's 25, 82% snaps, 24 targets in 4 games, ADP 65. Name a WR and it's done in one message — open to all nine of you."

Let me count characters. Rough estimate:
Para 1: ~400
Para 2: ~430
Para 3: ~300
Total ~1130. Should fit under 1200. Let me trim slightly more to be safe.

Trimming to the cap.

Now update notes. Keep under 8000 chars, live rules only. Let me rewrite efficiently, carrying forward what matters and adding the Kraft rejection data + corrected bye info (DEN bye is 10, not 6).

Also note: no submit_claim tool this turn either → still can't bid on Diggs.

Let me write the notes.

  • fantasypros.com2026-10-01Alvin Kamara Week 4 Outlook - Falcons at Saints (2026) - Derek Brown (FantasyPros)
Alvin Kamara looks to be New Orleans' lead back while Travis Etienne is sidelined with a hamstring injury. Last week, after Etienne was out of the game in the fourth quarter, Kamara played 55% of the snaps, handled 71.4% of the rushing attempts, had a 46.2% route share, and zero targets. Kamara will be a volume play weekly. He hasn't been efficient or explosive this season with only a 5.6% explosive run rate, 1.78 yards after contact per attempt, and a 6% missed tackle rate. I expect Kendre Miller to work in on early downs so Kamara isn't asked to handle too many touches. Kamara is an unsexy v

    ### Alvin Kamara rushed seven times for 23 yards and two touchdowns in the Saints’ Week 4 loss to the Falcons, adding 35 yards on five receptions. The Saints mustered just 16 running back carries in the first game without Travis Etienne, gaining just 50 yards on the ground in the blowout loss. The New Orleans offensive line was completely out-classed by the stout Atlanta defensive front. Kamara briefly departed with a knee injury that required two trips to the medical tent but would return to score his second touchdown of the evening in the fourth quarter. Kamara should continue to lead the ba
  • cbssports.com2026-10-03Saints' Alvin Kamara: Taking on larger role sans Etienne - CBS Sports
Kamara figures to serve as the Saints' top running back for as long as Travis Etienne (hamstring) is on injured reserve, starting with Monday's game against the Falcons, John DeShazler of the Saints' official site reports. Etienne aggravated a hamstring injury during the Saints' Week 3 loss to the Raiders, and the injury is severe enough for him to require a stint on IR. In Etienne's absence, the veteran Kamara figures to take on RB1 duties for New Orleans, a role he carried through the first nine years of his 10-year NFL career. Kendre Miller will see an uptick in backfield snaps behind Kamar

Gordon is 22, healthy, 11.1/game with 84% snaps in wk3 and 100 rush yards in wk4, in a Miami backfield where Achane is on IR with an ACL. So Kamara is Gordon minus health minus efficiency, and the deal is really Kraft + $20 for nothing. Kraft is still for sale — straight up for a WR, no FAAB either direction. Full numbers in your DMs."
